Radicals Win Top Positions at ARC Exhibition Race!

Pictured above is John Morris crossing the finish line in First place driving his newly delivered SR3 Turbo.

On November 22-23, 2003, members of Team Radical West traveled to Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, California to participate in the Northern California Racing Club’s annual event….THUNDERFEST.Team members who participated in the event included John Morris, Justin LaJoie, Fabian Okonski, and Ken Melgoza. Radical West Mechanics John Stover and David Thompson (recently flown in from England) and Service Manager, Marc Brewster, provided track and race support for the event.

American Racing Club’s inaugural Exhibition Race was held on Sunday, and was, by all accounts, a huge success. The race was the highlight of NCRC’s open track weekend. The participants all had the opportunity to match-up with some great drivers in a wide variety of cars.

Radical West Racing is proud to announce that the awesome SR3’s finished in 3 of the top 4 positions as follows:
1st - John Morris - Best Lap Time 1:52.9
3rd - Fabian Okonski - Best Lap Time 1:54.0
4th - Justin LaJoie - Best Lap Time 1:56.2

The race was exciting between the top contenders. John Morris was driving his newly delivered SR3 TURBO machine. Luc Noel qualified on Saturday in the pole position in his powerful Trans Am Mustang with 800 Horsepower. Morris quickly passed Noel on the first corner, and maintained his lead position for a good part of the race. Then, Morris got caught in traffic with a few other racers, and Noel passed him on the next-to-last lap. Morris knew he had to make his move quickly, and passed Noel once again inside a double apex corner with 5 cars, just before the white flag signifying the final lap was dropped. After Morris, Noel finished, followed closely by fellow Team Radical West members Okonski and LaJoie.

Congratulations to the organizers of this exciting event, Dave Mills and Troy Allison, co-founders of the Northern California Racing Club, a subsidiary of the American Racing Club. Troy and Dave are also new Radical Owners.Troy and Dave plan to hold four ARC races in 2004 at a variety of venues in Northern and Central California. Radical West plans to be an active participant in their well-organized and enjoyable events. ARC races will be exciting, financially friendly, run by a customer oriented team that will provide venues with innovative formats; formats not frequently seen in club racing.

Team Radical West Welcomes New SR3 Owners…November was a busy month for delivering race cars at Radical West Racing.  We are proud to welcome new Team Radical West Owners Arnaud Weber, Marc Futterman, Norm Lofthus, Troy Allison, Dave Mills, Ken Adelberg, and Randy Gray, to Team Radical West.

Marc Futterman, pictured at left in his Radical SR3 at Laguna Seca Raceway, is an expert driver from the San Fernando Valley in Southern California. Marc is the owner of a highly successful Construction firm, Brentwood Construction, involved in building and remodeling homes for the wealthy and famous in LA.

Arnaud Weber, from Northern California, met Team Radical West at a recent track event, where he was driving his Lotus Elise.  Arnaud custom ordered his RED 1500 cc Radical SR3, and it was recently air freighted from England to Los Angeles Airport.Arnaud plans to run his new SR3 in upcoming races and track events throughout the region.

One drive was all it took for Norm Lofthus to know he had to have a Radical. Norm has owned several NSX’s, but found the physics-defying handling of the SR3 to be in another league entirely. His new red SR3 was air freighted from England at the end of November.”Once you drive an SR3, everything else on the track feels like a passenger car,” he said.
Troy Allison, Co-Founder of the Northern California Racing Club and American Racing Club was amazed with the performance, quality, and sleek looks of the Radical and decided it was a must for his track car.  Team Radical West met him at one of the NCRC’s well-organized events.  He ordered a Bright Red Radical SR3.
Dave Mills, Co-Founder of the Northern California Racing Club, was similarly impressed with the performance of the Radical and ordered a Hot Yellow SR3 from the factory in England. Dave’s car was delivered via container ship into the USA and was transported by Team Radical West Racing to Northern California for an NCRC event at Laguna Seca Raceway.
Randy Gray, from Chico, California, will be showcasing the SR3 at his shop in northern California  with his partner, Wally Tonge, as a brand new Radical Dealer in the area.  Their dealership is called Graysport Racing.  Their YELLOW SR3 was recently delivered after crossing the ocean in a container ship from Peterborough, England.

Ken Adelberg is a Dodge Viper owner, expert driver, and active participant in many Viper Track Events throughout the region.  Now Ken is a member of Team Radical West Racing as his brand new Electric Blue SR3 has just been delivered via container ship to the United States - just in time for races and track events in the upcoming months.

A Rainbow of Radicals On the Grid at Laguna Seca Raceway

Team Radical West showed up in force last weekend at beautiful Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California.  On a cool and blustery day in early December, members of Team Radical West, including John Morris, Ken Melgoza, Norm Lofthus, Marc Futterman, Troy Allison, Dave Mills, Ken Adelberg, and Fabian Okonski, attended the Northern California Racing Club event.  This was the biggest event of the year for Team Radical West,” reported CEO John Morris.   “Lots of time and preparation was involved in arranging for the transport of the cars to Monterey.  We are looking forward to seeing more Radicals than ever before driving on the race track in 2004.  There are currently several SR3’s in production at the factory in England, and we are currently taking orders for delivery in the early part of next year.”The colorful Radicals perform flawlessly in all types of weather and impressed the crowd of racers, car owners, and racing fans at Laguna Seca.  They’re off and running, preparing for a full year of racing and track events planned for 2004.
