On a cold and breezy day in January, members of Team Radical West drove out to Willow Springs Raceway, the “fastest track in the West,” to run their awesome Radicals with the Viper Club of America at Viper Days. Team members who participated in the event included John Morris, Ken Melgoza, Ken Adelberg, Marc Futterman, and brand new Radical owners Matt Merrill and Glenn Dulaine, who were trying out their cars for the first time on the exhilirating Willow Springs racetrack.

Radical West Racing crew, Marc Brewster and Todd Joyce, provided track support for the event, which was also attended by the lovely Laura Kunde, Event Coordinator.  Friends, family and colleagues of the Radical Owners also were present.

Richard Fite, newly appointed Director of Racing for Radical West, even cut short his trip to Maui to return to the track on Sunday, in preparation for the upcoming SCCA race next weekend at California Speedway. 

Viper Days is the “Official” driving school of the Viper Club of America and is the only nationally recognized driving school & Challenge Series for Dodge Vipers.  Team Radical West enjoys the camaraderie and healthy competition with this skilled group of Viper drivers, and has run with the club for over a year.  In fact, many of our Radical owners still have their Vipers.

On Saturday night the group enjoyed an elegant banquet at the Park Plaza Hotel in Lancaster, where an auction was held with proceeds going to the Paul Mumford Foundation.  Paul Mumford, who died tragically last year, was one of the legendary Viper Drivers.  John Morris, CEO of Radical West Racing, placed a winning bid on a Teddy Bear and presented it to Laura Kunde, Radical West’s friendly and efficient Event Coordinator, for her hard work for the team.  Track awards and door prizes were also presented to participants during the banquet.
