Team Radical West dominated the track last weekend at Buttonwillow Raceway in Central California. The event, sponsored by Tracquest was held on the weekend of April 17-18, 2004 on Buttonwillow’s challenging 3-mile track.  The weather presented another challenge for the expert Radical drivers, as it changed from cool and blustery with a sudden downpour of rain on Saturday, to a picture perfect sunny day on Sunday. 

Team Radical West members who participated in the event were: John Morris, Ken Melgoza, Tim Day, Marc Futterman, and Ken Shahoian.  Radical West crew members Marc Brewster and David Thompson were also in attendance, along with Radical wives Jerra Morris, Kristy Melgoza and Lorrie Futterman.   

Several Tracquest participants had an opportunity to go for a thrilling, adrenaline-rush ride in a Radical with one of the Radical West team members.  John, Ken, and Marc were busy most of the weekend sharing the experience with Tracquest members.  The comments heard by the group after the rides ranged from “AWESOME!” “What a THRILL,” to “When can I go AGAIN?” 

The weekend began with Todd Serota´s Drivers meeting where he announced the presence of Team Radical West members, and offered rides to any interested parties. In attendance were over 40 participants, including instructors. The Radicals drove in the fast Red Group in which the rules allowed for passing nearly anywhere on the racetrack. The other drivers were enthusiastic about taking a ride in the Radicals.

Over the next two days Team Radical West members took Tracquest participants for thrilling rides on the racetrack. All of the comments received by the Radical Riders were extremely postive, and we are confident that we will be adding MORE new members to the team within the next few months.
