Radical West Racing Attends Private Track Event at Thunderhill
On Wednesday, May 26, 2004, Team Radical West Racing members traveled up north to Thunderhill Raceway to participate in Phillip Holmes’ private track event. Team Radical West members who participated in the event were John Morris, Bob Majorino, James DiIorio, Glenn Scott, Elliott Brainard, and prospective Radical owner Russ Jeter. Over 60 drivers attended this highly anticipated event. Radical West crew members Marc Brewster, David Thompson and Todd Joyce were also on hand to assist the team.
It was a perfect spring day in Willows, California, with great track conditions, and the team got up early to have breakfast and head down to the track. First on the agenda was the driver’s meeting where Phillip instructed the participants on safe driving techniques and passing rules. Phillip’s events are great for those who love to get a LOT of track time as there are only two run groups so everyone had a chance to practice their technique.
The participants drove a variety of cars - Porsches, NSX’s, Hondas, and even a Saleen Custom Built car - all driving together on the challenging Thunderhill track. Several prospective Radical owners went for rides in the cars and they unanimously agreed that the Radical was the fastest thing on the track. All of the Radical West team members enjoyed their track day tremendously and we look forward to Phillip’s next event.
We would like to thank Phillip Holmes and his staff for a fabulous track day.

Radicals Featured in June 2004 Edition of Automobile Magazine
Team Radical West cars were featured in the June edition of Automobile Magazine, in an article entitled “The Radical Solution.” As the article subtitle reads, “An upstart British racing-car manufacturer provides the ultimate in track-day performance.” To experience a full-on track-day racing fantasy, some drivers turn to the Radical - a vehicle not available at your local dealership.
Preston Lerner, a contributing Automobile Magazine writer, experienced the Radical first hand and wrote, “On the track, the Radical immediately impresses you with its agility - no surprise, since the SR3 weighs only 1100 pounds. With four-pot calipers at all four corners and not much mass to stop, deceleration is so abrupt that you’ve got to hurry to get all the downshifts done in the braking zone. In short, the Radical feels lot like a full-bodied, well-mannered formula car.”
