Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch hosts Corvette Only Track Days

Advanced Driving School cars lined up on a beautiful morning at the Ranch
It was party time at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch on February 26-27, 2005.
On a beautiful spring-like weekend, Corvette owners and enthusiasts from across the country gathered to share the fun and to participate in a series of timed run sessions and social activities at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch. We call it Corvette Track Days, and the always-anticipated event is held to celebrate this legendary car and to join in friendly competition between fellow drivers on the Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch challenging 2.2 mile racetrack .
Our incredible Spring Mountain staff were all present at the event, along with volunteers who helped coordinate the dinner party and ensured everyone had a fabulous time. Even the weather cooperated, with days clear, sunny and in the 60’s and evenings dropping down to the mid 30’s, complete with a starry sky.
The event began with a driver’s meeting conducted by Dave Petrie, General Manager of Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch. Following the meeting, the run sessions began, featuring beginning, intermediate and advanced sessions, depending on each driver’s comfort level and ability.
On Saturday night, after the drivers were finished for the day, the real party started with a BBQ steak dinner with all the trimmings, cocktails, music and dancing, a celebratory cake, and even a bonfire under the stars. We were honored to host some local dignitaries, including Tony DeMeo, Sheriff of Nye County, and his wife, Linda; Jim Wulfenstein, owner of Wulfenstein Construction and Wulfy’s Restaurant, and his wife, Terri; and Dan Roseland, General Manager of Pahrump Valley Auto Mall, and his wife Diane.
Trasi Pillman, Director of Marketing for Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, drew names and announced the lucky raffle winners: Wine and Cheese Baskets: Dave Alciatore, Leslie Cohen and Ray Stahl, loyal Corvette Days attendees; and Gift Certificates for our next Corvette Track Days Event: Carl Best, who rented one of our Corvettes for the weekend, and Jim Balestrieri, a regular student in our Level 2 courses. Jim, along with his brother and friends come out to Spring Mountain every year for the last 5-6 years. And, a gift certificate for the 3-Day Level 1 Corvette Advanced Driving School was awarded to Phil Jones, all the way from Maine! Our next Corvette Track Days event is scheduled for May 7-8, 2005.
Reservations are now being accepted at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch for the Level I and Level II Corvette School and for the Radical Racing School. Please refer to the event calendar which is on display on Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch’s website.
We would like to thank all of the participants for attending this event, and a special thanks is extended to our awesome Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch staff for their hard work and dedication. All of the attendees agreed that it was a fantastic event, and we are looking forward to celebrating with you at a future Corvette Days celebration!
