Spring Mountain Advanced Driving School expansion plans heating up the Nevada desert

Pahrump, Nev. (August 20, 2007) – Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch, located just 45 miles from Las Vegas, is expanding the facilities for its acclaimed driving program.  Construction is now underway on the new, 7,891 square-foot facility, which upon opening in October will be dedicated exclusively for the Spring Mountain Advanced Driving School operations.

Features of the new facility include a classroom with seating capacity for up to 30 students, plasma TVs, merchandise store, mechanical shop, kitchenette, office space and storage for the school’s growing fleet C6 Z51 / Z06 Corvettes used exclusively for training.

“Our expansion will accommodate the overwhelming demand from new drivers and for persons wanting to enhance their own driving skills, even at a professional level,” according to General Manager Dave Petrie“Our construction schedule is on track, so we’ll be ready for the upcoming 2008 season. Classes are already booked well into the season, and we are working with Lotus and other exotic car manufacturers to expand our repertoire of driving programs.”

The existing 5,000 square-foot building will be used for the Radical Racing School operations, the new Lotus Performance Driving School, administrative offices, and future expansion plans.

One of the features of the Driving School is the Corvette itself, as it serves as the actual classroom, with two-way radios installed in each car for maximum seat time on the 2.2 mile, purpose-built road course and instant on-track feed back.  Students will log up to 300 miles in their Corvettes during the three-day Level I Corvette program alone.  Corvette School training takes place on the 2.2 mile track, which offers a variety of corners and elevation changes that keep the Corvette in constant transition, all making for an enjoyable, safe and exciting track to drive.  The School’s Level I and Level II programs have limited class sizes and minimum amounts of classroom briefings.

“We employ Visual Scanning techniques in all of our classes, which is a technique that sets us apart from other forms of driver education,” adds Petrie“Your eyes control everything you do, and their trained use is essential to fully control your vehicle.  In any form of motorsports, the terms ‘smoothness’ and ‘balance’ are often used to describe a professional. The smoothest drivers in the world are those who have perfected the technique of Visual Scanning, and this technique is the basis of the education Spring Mountain provides for our drivers.  And, there is simply no comparison to Spring Mountain’s driving exercises, which are extremely intense and leave the students with a new understanding of how to interact with their vehicle.”

The Spring Mountain Advanced Driving School offers several driving programs with their high-performance fleet of 24 Corvettes, including the most popular three-day Level I Corvette Program, two-day Level I Weekend program, two-day Level II Program, one-day Performance Highlights program, and one-day Car Control Clinics, with prices starting at $500 for one-day programs.

ABOUT SPRING MOUNTAIN MOTORSPORTS RANCH
Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch is a 193-acre facility for motorsports enthusiasts located in Pahrump, Nevada.  The racetrack consists of various configurations within a 3.5-mile road course. The “original” north/south road course is 2.2 miles in length and features elevation changes totaling approximately 50 feet. The newest section of the Motorsports Ranch, now known as the West Track - or Radical Loop - is 1.5 miles in length and includes two banked corners, one dramatic blind drop, and one technical off-camber corner, along with a screaming fast straight, serving as an adrenaline packed experience for the ultimate in driving excitement.  The track was designed to keep the car in constant transition, which provides the drivers with full feedback.

The Nevada-based firm is headed by John Morris and Brad Rambo, two motorsports enthusiasts from California who have founded successful businesses in other industries (www.AdvancedAccess.com and www.IndependentTradingCo.com).  Morris and Rambo originally purchased the Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch facility in July 2004, and since the change of ownership, the partners have expanded the racetrack from 2.2 miles to 3.5 total miles, developed and built a 5,000 square-foot administration building, constructed two garage buildings with 56 garages for rental, and have tripled the revenues of the Advanced Driving School and track rental operations. In May 2006, the partners launched Club Spring Mountain, a Private Motorsports Country Club with special amenities including an exclusive club house with viewing tower and guaranteed track time for its members.

SPRING MOUNTAIN MOTORSPORTS RANCH is an independently owned and operated Nevada LLC, privately funded and headquartered in Pahrump, Nevada.  Additional information about Spring Mountain Advanced Driving School can be obtained by calling toll free 800.391.6891, or 775.727.6363, by email info@springmountainmotorsports.com, or by visiting website at www.racespringmountain.com.
