The month of November features some phenomenal events, including the Grand Opening of the world’s first destination dealership, an exclusive, members-only preview of the new Porsche 911, the legendary Corvette Track Days, and another exciting Club race. Plan to have some fun at the track and join your fellow members at the club this month!
Porsche 911On November 13-14 our members were invited to an exclusive preview of the Porsche 911, courtesy of Gaudin Porsche in Las Vegas. During this unforgettable experience in the driver’s seat, members will learn techniques from world famous Porsche Sport Driving School instructors that will reveal what the new 911 in capable of. The free event quickly filled to capacity with members on the waiting list.

On November 15-16 Club Spring Mountain members and guests are cordially invited to the Switchcars outsideGrand Opening Celebration of the world first destination dealership located at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch - Switchcars.com. The Switchcars.com building, near the Club Spring Mountain Member Center, features a race-inspired theme and an impressive array of rare and beautiful exotic cars for the auto aficionado to enjoy. The Grand Opening party features exotic car test rides, a complimentary lunch at the dealership and more! RSVP to Doug Tabbutt if you are planning to attend by calling 866-672-CARS (866-672-2277.)

LVPCA LogoAlso on November 15-16, the Las Vegas Region Porsche Club of America and Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) present Open Track Days at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch. Club Spring Mountain members are invited to participate in this exciting event. The track opens at 7:00 am and the mandatory Driver’s Meeting is at 8:00am. On November 22-23 we are proud to present the popular Corvette Track Days at Spring Corvette Track DaysMountain. This season’s Corvette Track Days will be better than ever, as we unveil our hot new ZR1’s. With 638 horsepower and 604 ft/Lbs of torque, the ZR1 is the most powerful, and most expensive, Corvette ever made. Please note that the Corvette Track Days event will run on the 3.1-mile road course and for the first time ever, vehicles other than Corvettes can be driven at this event, only by members of Club Spring Mountain. The Advanced Group will include members in ANY variety of car. Novice, beginner and intermediate groups are strictly for Corvettes only. The Saturday night banquet will be hosted in the Clubhouse. Radical grid with JenFinally, the weekend of November 29-30 brings us our own Club Radical Race Series Event, featuring Rookie, SR3 and Unlimited classes. Members with Radicals or Sports Cars are invited to participate! We look forward to seeing all of our members and guests at these action-packed November events. Remember to contact Ellen if you would like to participate in any of the events during the month of November. Different rules and guidelines will apply for each of the event companies, so don’t hesitate to call if you need more information or if you have questions.

Attention Members: We would like your feedback on how to run the Sports Car Race series next year. This year, due to lack of participation, we only ran two Sports Car races. Please send your ideas to Ellen via email ellen@clubspringmountain.com

Congratulations to Greg Nitzkowski, from La Canada, California. Greg, a Classic Member of Club Spring Mountain, Greg Nitkoski and 2 Elevenrecently took delivery of his phenomenal new Black Lotus 2-Eleven! Pictured here together behind the Clubhouse with his son Ryland, Greg plans to drive his 2-Eleven at the track for races and Club events this season. With the racing season just beginning and perfect desert weather ahead, this is the perfect time to Join the Club, so be sure to tell your friends to contact Lindsay Shepard for a tour of our ever-expanding facilities. Dyno Shop Now Open!

 

Club Spring Mountain is proud to announce that our new Dyno Shop is now open for the use of our members. Featuring state-of-the-art equipment by Dyno Jet, the shop is located in the Lotus building and we encourage our members to take advantage of this convenient service. Dyno-tuning optimizes your engine’s operating parameters, ensuring optimum performance and efficiency. The dynamometer provides print-outs of the torque and power characteristics of the engine through the engine revolution range. The graphs can be used to determine the optimum speed or revolutions for gear changes to suit your driving style for optimum acceleration, and optimum track times!

The Dyno machine must be run with the assistance of James Barwell from Powertec Engineering, who is located in the office adjacent to the Dyno Shop. As a courtesy to James, please call first on his cell phone 702-481-5611 to ensure he is available. If you cannot reach James, check the Powertec Building, or call Simon Shepard at 714-369-3361.

Member Dyno Rates:
Set-up fee: $150.00, includes 3 power runs (approximately one hour)
$150 per additional hour
If you have any questions about the new Dyno service, please do not hesitate to contact us.

A Reminder to Club Members

Missing Towels. We are pleased to offer our members amenities to make your visit to Club Spring Mountain more Towel girlconvenient, such as complimentary towel service in the locker room. Since our Grand Opening in May we have lost nearly 100 towels. We would like to continue providing this service to our members, so please help us by checking your belongings before leaving the club to ensure you are not taking our Club towels home with you. We appreciate your cooperation.
Karts only in designated areas. In the interest of safety and visibility we kindly ask that drive your kart ONLY in designated karting areas. Please do not drive your karts at any time in the paddock areas or through the tunnel. If you would like to take your kart out on the lower skid pad, please ask Ken Northrup for assistance and he will trailer your kart down to the paddock area safely. It is not safe to drive your kart outside of designated karting areas.
Fuel in your Garage. Please do not store fuel in your garage as it is against Nye County Fire Codes. If fuel is found in a garage the member will be subject to a fine levied by Nye County Fire officials.
