Greetings From Your Desert Paradise
More Heartbeats Per Minute at the Club in February
Welcome to Club Spring Mountain where the air is crisp, the track is pumping and spirits are high! Bring your loved ones to celebrate Valentine's month in the spectacular Mojave desert with several options available for club racing and activities for friends and family. Beginning with the Club Race Weekend, February 10-12, compete with your fellow members on the lightning-fast Mansell "C" 3.4-mile road course. On February 17-18 Club members will run in the "Duel in the Desert" with the Vintage Auto Racing Association "VARA," the largest vintage car racing member organization on the West Coast. Race fields consist of production and sports cars with a focus on fun and competitive, contact-free racing.
Club Spring Mountain, along with CEO John Morris, were featured in Bloomberg Business Week magazine this month. The article, entitled "The World's Longest Racetrack will be for Wealthy Racers," reflects on the history of our fast-growing facility and plans for the future. Read the article here.
Make your plans early to participate in our non racing weekend, April 29-30. The longer track is specifically designed for members who are non-racers and sports car drivers. Our Club Coordinator, Elizabeth McGee, reports that we are planning a weekend of fun and special events for you and your significant others. You can register for this fun event through our website and our new Club Spring Mountain App!
Treat yourself or pamper your loved ones with a relaxing massage by our lovely and talented therapist, Tina Edgerton. Relax and rejuvenate your body and soul after a long day of racing. Members and guests love Tina's healing touch, so don't miss out on her latest special offer. To celebrate Valentine's Day Tina is offering deluxe 90-minute hot stone massages for the month of February at a special low price of only $125.00. Call Elizabeth at 702-335-5450 to schedule your services and your visit to the Club.
As always, we look forward to seeing you at the Club with your family and friends.
Remembering Friends of the Club
RIP Prinz Oliver, Ray Wulfenstein and Don Hoffman
Reporting the loss of members and friends of the Club is never easy. Last month we shared Prinz Oliver von Anhalt, a long-time Charter Member, passed away Christmas Day and a Celebration of his life was held at Lake Spring Mountain on January 13. During the celebration friends and family of the prince wrote personal messages, lit Chinese lanterns and launched them into the moonlit sky. View the photos of the event by Ken Melgoza, and watch the video from Oliver's Celebration in Los Angeles
Ray Wulfenstein, father of Jim Wulfenstein, Club member, known as one of the founding fathers of the town of Pahrump, passed away in Oregon January 15. Ray was a friend and loyal supporter of Spring Mountain who was involved in the paving of the original 2.2-mile track. A successful businessman and entrepreneur, Ray moved to Pahrump in 1972 and started a small motel business.
His business interests later grew into a recreational vehicle park, car wash, Wulfy's sports bar, land development and a construction company that bears the family name.
Don Hoffman, a friend of many Club members, passed January 13 in Nashville, Tennessee. Don was a frequent visitor to the Club who owned Radicals and hosted numerous private driving programs. Don always had a huge smile on his face and lived life to the fullest, looking for fun and adventure. A devoted family man, Don will be missed by all the people whose lives he touched.
Sincere condolences from all of us at Club Spring Mountain to the families and friends of these phenomenal men.
