Club Spring Mountain News - May 2012

Your Desert Oasis Awaits

Ah, Springtime....When a Man's Fancy turns to Racing

Spring has sprung at the Club! The sun is shining, the weather is warm and the facility is abloom with color. This is the best time of year to visit your own private Motor Resort & Country Club at Club Spring Mountain.

The weather is perfect for outdoor barbeques, cocktails and camaraderie with fellow members, not to mention spending time practicing your skills for race titles and bragging rights. While you're on the track, allow your guests to experience the luxurious setting of a private club, work out in the fitness center, enjoy a massage with Tina, relax in the spa, or just unwind in the lounge and meet some new friends. If you haven't been to the Club in awhile, make it a point this season to experience all the fun and adrenaline rush your system can handle.

May is filled with exciting activities and fun events with track organizations so you should try to get involved in all the action. Our Club Race Weekend is May 19-20, and for the first time we will be merging our Miata and Radical Race Series together in the same weekend, making it a complete "Race Series Weekend".
The Bracket Race will also be held that weekend for our members who drive sports cars. As always, Sabrina has lots of exciting activities planned. And, once again the Las Vegas PCA will be hosting an Open Track Event on May 26-27, 2012. Our members are cordially invited to run with the Porsche drivers. Refer to our Event Calendar for more information about each event and to plan your track visits this month.

Your Home Away from Home...the Club Condominiums! Our Club Condominiums feature luxury studios with kitchenettes and will allow you and your guests more space for overnight stays in comfort, style and convenience. To book a room for your next visit, contact Sabrina Fares, your personal Country Club Representative, by phone (702) 335-5450, via email - sabrina@racespringmountain.com, or call her TOLL FREE at 800.391.6891 ext. 241.

Schedule your trip to Club Spring Mountain today with our easy online RSVP form. Simply click on the date you would like to visit and you'll find the RSVP form for that time. Don't miss all the fun at the track this month. Call Sabrina Fares, your Country Club Coordinator, to let us know you'll be here and we'll do everything we can to make your stay here fun and memorable.

"The world's favorite season is the spring. All things seem possible in May."
- Edwin Way Teale

We'll see you at the Club!

Spring Mountain Acquires 120 Acres for New Development

Track Extension and Lake Planned on the New Property

We are thrilled to report that Spring Mountain Motor Resort & Country Club has finalized the acquisition of a 120-acre parcel adjacent to the facility. The parcel, acquired from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) was purchased by modified competitive sealed-bid sale. CEO and co-owner John Morris personally attended the sale at the Pahrump Field Office on Torrey Pines Drive in Las Vegas on Monday, May 7, 2012. With the addition of the new parcel, the total size of the facility will now include 313 acres.

As previously reported, we are planning to immediately improve the property, beginning with a 1.6-mile track extension on the new parcel, along with a .5-mile extension on the original 2.2-mile road course, at turn 4. The new track extension will be 50 feet wide and extremely smooth, due to a special emollient mixed with the asphalt to provide an excellent grip and smooth surface, with exceptional banking, including 102 feet of elevation change with a banked bowl. With this addition, we will be able to run 4 simultaneous track configurations and multiple long track variations for Country Club members, with the longest configuration totaling 6 miles in length.

"We've accelerated our development to realize our vision of Spring Mountain being a world-class motorsports facility," says CEO John Morris. "The acquisition of the new parcel of land will allow us to immediately begin our track expansion and to build a lake for the enjoyment of our members, students and guests. After the track addition is complete, Spring Mountain will be the second-longest race track in the world."

The BLM manages more than 245 million acres of public land, the most of any Federal agency. This land, known as the National System of Public Lands, is primarily located in 12 Western states, including Alaska. In Fiscal Year 2011, recreational and other activities on BLM-managed land contributed more than $130 billion to the U.S. economy and supported more than 600,000 American jobs. The Bureau is also one of a handful of agencies that collects more revenue than it spends. In FY 2012, nearly $5.7 billion will be generated on lands managed by the BLM, which operates on a $1.1 billion budget. The BLM's multiple-use mission is to sustain the health and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.

For more details about the new property and development plans, read the press release.
