Club Spring Mountain News - October 2012

October Excitement at Club Spring Mountain

An action-packed month is upon us at Club Spring Mountain with the busy Fall Season in full swing. There's always something happening at the Club with fun events planned all season, including preparations for our exhibit at the SEMA show at the Las Vegas Convention Center October 30-November 2, 2012. In September GM Dignitaries, including the President of General Motors, Mark Reuss, visited the track, along with our own Ron Fellows. Last week we had the pleasure of hosting a private event for Audi Henderson and Lamborghini with Club Member Jim Diguilio, and feasted our eyes on the colorful gorgeous exotics maximizing their performance on the high-speed road course.

The starting grid at our Club race weekend on October 20-21 will be packed with new and returning racers in the Bracket-style, Miata and Radical competitions. Contestants in the October race will find a whole new world at the Club with our track extension now in use.

Autumn is the perfect time to come to the Club, with track weekends, races and fun events planned all season. And as always, the benefits of membership await your guests while you're playing on the track, including the fitness center, massages by Tina, the pool and Jacuzzi, racquetball, or simply relaxing with members and friends in the luxurious lounge.

Change is in the air this month as development continues at the facility. In addition to the new track extension, we are now offering gourmet meals prepared in our own Commercial Clubhouse kitchen. Refer to our Event Calendar to plan your track visits this season. Schedule your trip to Club Spring Mountain today with our easy online RSVP form. Simply click on the date you would like to visit and you'll find the RSVP form for that time.

Don't miss out on all the fun at the Club in October. Call Sabrina Fares, your Country Club Coordinator, to let us know you'll be here and we'll be ready for your visit! Sabrina can be reached TOLL FREE at 800.391.6891, or by cell (702) 335-5450.

We'll see you at the Club!

Radical Monticello News

Across the country at our sister Club, Monticello Motor Club, we are pleased to report that we have SIX new Radical owners, several of whom are also brand new Club Spring Mountain members. We hope to see them soon at upcoming Club race weekends. Ari Straus, President of Monticello Motor Club, was among the new owners, and his Radical of choice was the SR8.

This summer we introduced the Radical dealership to fellow motorsports enthusiasts in New York, and relocated our Radical fleet, mechanics and driving professionals to the east coast for a summer of Radical courses at the world-class Motor Club. The Radical program was a huge success with sold-out driving schools and new Radicals running on the Monticello Road Course. Also, more members have joined Club Spring Mountain and Monticello after experiencing the advantages of a dual membership.

If you are interested in joining Monticello Motor Club, you can take advantage of a dual-membership option to join as a Silver or Gold Member at 50% off the current initiation fees. Club Spring Mountain members with a residence (primary or secondary) within a 200-mile radius of Monticello Motor Club are not eligible for this offer. Club Spring Mountain members can join Monticello Motor Club as a Corporate member at the normal rate and their annual dues for 2012 and 2013 will be waived (reflects a savings of $15,000 per year.)

Monticello Motor Club's road course was built to test a professional racecar driver, but designed to be safe for the first-time track enthusiast. Set on 175 wooded acres of undulating terrain, the course incorporates grand corners reminiscent of great European tracks; over 1.5 miles of straights, 450 feet of thrilling elevation changes; and a total of 22 turns including hairpins, increasing, and decreasing radius. For more information about Monticello's dual-membership program, please contact John Illanovsky at john@monticellomotorclub.com or call 877-578-7223 x 288.

Club Race Weekend - October 20-21, 2012

Don't Miss our October Race Event....Miata, Radical and Bracket Contests

A large turnout is expected for the next Club Race competition weekend on October 20-21, 2012. The word is spreading about our track extension and members can't wait to drive on the newly-paved road course at the Club. Don't miss your chance to see and race with your fellow members. Whether you are a Radical, Miata or Sports Car driver you can enjoy the camaraderie and participate in all the festivities. Take advantage of the two members-only practice days before the race. We are expecting a large field of Radicals and Miatas at the contest, with drivers competing for points and trophies at the end of the year. Now is your chance to your cumulative totals so you can take home the year-end trophies and chance to travel to Spa Raceway in Belgium!

The September Radical Race was a huge success, thanks to the support of three factory-trained Radical professionals who joined us from England, including two Radical Factory Technicians and one Engine Builder. Traveling across the pond to join us for the upcoming October CSM Radical Race are Phil Abbott, Co-Founder of Radical Sportscars and Technical Director; Nick Dove, Commercial Director; and Paul Dujon, Export/Sales Coordinator/Photographer. To lend support during the race weekend, technicians James Abbott, technician & race driver; Simon Rees, gearbox specialist; and Richard Webb Radical Powertec Engineering Chief Technician will also be joining us for the festivities.

Sabrina reports that we will have another eventful weekend, with great food, courtesy of our new Director of Food & Beverage, Susan DeLisle (view the race weekend menu!) and fun with members and guests. A complimentary continental breakfast will be served in the Clubhouse each day, and the price for lunches is $15.00 per person with pre-registration or $25.00 at the event, and dinner is $35.00 per person with pre-registration or $45.00 at the event, not including alcoholic beverages at the bar.

For a complete schedule of activities, rules and associated costs, view the Saturday and Sunday race weekend schedules. For more information, please contact Sabrina Fares. View the photos from September's Club race weekend.
