Club Spring Mountain News - September 2018

Big Changes on the Horizon

Acquisitions, Expansion and Major Forward Momentum

01 homesitesWe’re racing into the highly anticipated fall season at Club Spring Mountain with news about land acquisitions, track expansion, and significant changes to the skyline at the facility. As valued members you are witnessing some of the most exciting times in our history and we're thrilled you are along for the ride. During the summer, record numbers of motorsports enthusiasts have seen the vision and are investing in a Club membership to become a part of our promising future. Welcome to our newest members Randy and Karen Wonnenberg, Mike and Mary Greenberg and Paul Chamberlain. Please join us in making our new members feel at home.

02 mapSpring Mountain Raceway is the designated bidder on a 621-acre parcel of land north and east of the facility, which brings the total development to 950 acres. The acquisition of the two parcels, officially published in the Federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) registry, clears the way for us to expand with new track, more paddock area, structural improvements, and an airstrip for landing our members’ jets. Pictured is the preliminary layout of our future 2.67-mile road course, including a runway and taxiway. The proposed design will continue to evolve over the next few months. Currently the longest racetrack in North America at 6.1 miles, our plans are to become the longest road course in the world by 2020 with a 16-mile total configuration.

03 turtleThe first phase of the sale is expected to close January 20, and grading will begin in February 2019. Construction on the new track and runway must be completed by April 10 in time for our friends, the desert tortoise, indigenous to Mojave Desert, to emerge from hibernation and begin their natural migration patterns. Spring Mountain makes every effort to protect this threatened species from potentially harmful activity on the property.

Tune in to this video interview of John Morris by the Las Vegas Review Journal about the upcoming expansion.

04 renderingSpring Mountain Estates, our exclusive private residential community with 80 home and mixed-use lots, is growing fast, with more members planning and building the home of their dreams. Building your home at the track can be as easy as starting with one of our stunning pre-designed options. We have partnered with Double M Construction to provide a number of unique floorplans (pictured.) Whether you build your home with a private architect or start with one of our designs, you will become a part of one of the most exciting communities in the West.

05 constructionPlatinum Member Alain Derzie's luxury residence (pictured) within Spring Mountain Estates is making significant progress, with framing completed and temporary scaffolding installed. Construction should be completed by the end of Fall. Brandon and Chelse Rambo's home is nearly finished, and it won't be long before we see more members enjoying their own private paradise at the track.

For more information on how you can live the dream and own your own parcel at Spring Mountain Estates, contact Mike Weeks, VP of Sales, via email clubcoordinator@racespringmountain.com,, or by phone 949-235-7810.

06 water treatmentConstruction on our Water & Sewer Treatment plant is nearly complete: two massive 600-gallon water tanks have been filled and paving is underway on the surrounding area, along with final testing of the system prior to turning over operations to Great Basin Water Co. The $13.7M project will serve Spring Mountain Estates, the commercial development and surrounding areas.

Monumental changes to the skyline are on the horizon at the front entrance, with our commercial development poised to begin construction this season. Conditional use permits for a 125-room Hotel, Casino, Starbucks and two additional restaurant pads were applied for this summer by Majestic Properties. Construction on the project will begin in mid-October, and we are thrilled to offer our members more options for recreation, dining and entertainment at the facility.

We are grateful for your enthusiasm, friendship and support as we embark on a memorable season of change and growth. As always, our goal is to continue to provide a phenomenal Club experience for you and your guests.

Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion

Gathering of Exotics on Display and on the Race Course

07 rolex montereyThe Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion is the largest event held during the Monterey Classic Car Week, with approximately 550 race cars invited to compete. During the reunion, Christian Von Koenigsegg hosted a special screening of ‘Straight and Narrow,’ a documentary with an inside view of the five world production car speed records set by Koenigsegg outside the track in November 2017. The film was commissioned by the owner of the world-record-setting Agera RS, Mark Stidham, Platinum member. Members of our staff were graciously invited by Jeffrey Cheng and other members to the screening. Spring Mountain sponsored a booth at the event, where we had a chance to visit with our valued members and prospects.

New Look for John Morris' Rooftop

Luxury Shade Structure and Rooftop Paradise to be Built atop CEO's Property

Arcadia Building Products created the perfect solution for controlling the effects of weather in the sky-high outdoor space. The specialty louvers provide shade and air flow without blocking the view, and they pivot to create shelter from the elements. The project will transform the space formerly used as a helipad into a unique location for relaxation, entertaining, and unobstructed views of our motorsports paradise.
