Club Spring Mountain News - September 2019

New Reasons for Excitement at the Club

Acquisitions, Expansion and Change on the Horizon

01 carsAfter a summer of growth and progress, we are happy to welcome Club members back for the 2019 Fall racing season. Our 866-acre driver's paradise is on the brink of the most significant growth in our history, and we are bursting with news about land acquisitions, track expansion, and monumental changes to the skyline at the facility. In June we celebrated our 15-year anniversary at an event in the Clubhouse with the people who made it happen - our valued members. Our hard-working staff worked tirelessly to ensure a memorable party for everyone and we are grateful for their loyalty and support.

02 john jefferyDuring the event, two long-time Club members were presented with “Champion of Spring Mountain” awards. This special award was created to celebrate club members who exemplify the spirit of Spring Mountain through their words, their actions, and their contributions to the club. Jeffrey Cheng and Doug Ramirez have been a part of the Club Spring Mountain family for nearly our entire history. Both have referred more members to the Club than any other individuals, and they have gone above and beyond in support of the organization. We honor Jeffrey and Doug for the huge impact they have had on our success, and we are grateful for the loyalty and support of all our valued Club Spring Mountain members. Begin the new season with a racing start! Join us for the FIRST Club Race weekend of fall on the Fittipaldi ‘G’ 3.2-mile course September 12-15. This month sports car drivers will compete in an exciting wheel-to-wheel race. The Las Vegas Porsche Club of America will be running with our members September 21-22 on the Mansell ‘C’ 3.4-mile course. Consult our Members Calendar for more opportunities to participate in fun and competitive driving this season.

06 driverWishing our newest Club members, Edwin Hammond and John & Vivian DeWalque, a warm welcome to Club Spring Mountain. Looking forward to seeing Edwin around the facility. We have now resumed our normal business hours of 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, with the track closed from 12-1 pm for lunch.

We appreciate your enthusiasm, friendship and support, and thank you for your confidence as we continue to provide a phenomenal Club experience for you and your guests.

Acquisition of Two Parcels from BLM

Expansion Plans in Progress for Adjacent Land

07 mapRecently we announced the successful close of escrow on 553.27 acres of property directly adjacent to the facility. The parcel, identified as phase one of a two-part sale from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM,) was awarded by modified competitive sealed-bid sale. Last week, Spring Mountain was awarded the bid for the second phase of 67 acres which is expected to close in 2020, bringing the total size of the facility to 933 acres.

Improvements on the property are in the planning stages, beginning with a 3.2-mile track extension, new buildings and a paddock area for track operations. With this addition, Spring Mountain can run more track configurations and long track variations for driving school operations, track rentals and corporate events, with the longest course estimated to total 9 miles in length. Eventually, phase two will include yet another track extension of 7 miles, which will make Spring Mountain home to the longest road course in the world.

Our expansion is a testament to the loyalty of our Club members and friends across the country, and we are thankful for your support.

$13.7M Project Serves Spring Mountain Estates, Commercial & Surrounding Areas

08 water treatmentSpring Mountain Motor Resort & Country Club recently received its Permit to Operate a Public Water System from the Division of Environmental Protection Bureau of Safe Drinking Water. The $67M site plan will be submitted to the county in November, followed by construction starts, and we are thrilled to offer our members more options for recreation, dining and entertainment at the facility.
