Our Club Members are making headlines
We are pleased to announce the recent addition of several new members to Club Spring Mountain. Please join us in making them feel welcome! The latest Club members to join our group are Wayne Swanson, who raced his Radical for the first time in January’s race; Lee Minshull, Paul Terry, Cole Whitcher, Lester Roberts and Gerry Shear. We look forward to seeing you around the Club this season.
George Kurtz, Charter Member, was recently interviewed in a 60 Minutes segment entitled “The Great Brain Robbery,” highlighting economic espionage sponsored by the Chinese government. George, an internationally recognized security expert, author, entrepreneur and speaker, is President, CEO and co-founder of Crowdstrike, View the transcript and video of the segment.
Congratulations to Charter Member Alain Derzie, who recently partnered with Jeff Bucknum to launch a new company called OctaneJAVA. Club Race Weekend – Feb 19-21
Don’t Miss the Race Competition and Fun Events next weekend
Are you ready for another action-packed three-day race weekend? The excitement starts on the Mansell “B” 3.5-mile course on Friday at 9:00 am with 30-minute Light Sport Racer (Wolfs and Radicals) and Sports Car run sessions for practice, fun and qualifying throughout the day, followed by a fun Bracket Race in the afternoon. On Saturday your day begins with a Mandatory Drivers Meeting in the Clubhouse at 8:00 am, followed by run sessions for Non-Racers, Light Sport Racers, and Miatas. The races start in the afternoon for the Miatas, followed by a Light Sport Race and a Bracket race. Sunday will also be packed with excitement beginning at 8:45 am with run sessions, qualifying, a Miata and a Light Sport race. To finish off the weekend, at 1:30 pm we will run an exciting 60-minute Enduro Race.
Rentals of our luxury-style loft condominiums can be arranged through Kelsey Eisenzimer, Members Coordinator. Kelsey reports that the condos are going fast, so call as soon as possible to book your space. Our condominiums feature all the comforts of a high-end hotel with the perfect trackside location, so invite your guests to stay with us on race weekend and enjoy all the amenities we have to offer.
Thursday practice sessions will be held on the Mansell “B” 3.5-mile course so come on out a day early and get a jump on the competition.
Friday Night Craft Beer Tasting! Executive Chef Susan has announced a Craft Beer tasting party and dinner on Friday night so don’t miss the fun, beginning at 5 pm. Beer tasting will be from 5-6 pm followed by dinner.
Saturday night Banquet! You are invited to join us for an fun evening of cocktails, dinner and celebration at the Club house on Saturday night, with a delicious menu by Executive Chef Susan. Throughout the race weekend, buffet breakfasts are included in your race fees. Lunches are 15.00 with pre-registration or $20.00 at the event, and Dinner is $35.00 with pre-registration or $40.00 at the event.
Last month Spring Mountain Racing introduced new race categories and the Wolf Racing Cars made their debut on the Andretti “B” 4-mile course. We were thrilled to have the Bellarossa Family and support staff from Wolf Racing Cars visit from Italy to help our mechanics get the new GBO8CN and GBO8SM cars ready for their grand entrance into the 2016 racing season.
