New Cars and New Challenges Introduced this Month

We have exciting news to share with our valued members, including the arrival of the first few awe-inspiring Wolf Racing Cars at the facility. This FIA approved race machine is guaranteed to give you the thrill of your life with performance to match. The Michelin Members-Only Corvette Challenge has also been announced, set to begin at Spring Mountain in February 2016. Both the Wolf Race car and the specially-equipped Michelin Corvette will be on display in the Clubhouse at a festive Friday night dinner and movie-screening on November 20.Lake Spring Mountain

Last week was the official Grand Opening of the Aquatic Center
, with jetpack demonstrations, live news coverage, and proceeds from all of the flights donated to the Susan G. Komen organization.. The lake property area is becoming more resort-like than ever with an abundance of palm trees, green grass and white sand.

Wolf Racing Cars

Bellisima! Stunning Italian beauties have arrived at Spring Mountain

The Wolf GB08 We are thrilled to announce the execution of an exclusive distributor agreement for the US with Wolf Racing Cars and the Wolf GB08. Wolf Racing Cars is an Italian racing car manufacturer based in the Province of Brescia, Italy. The track debut of the GB08 took place in April 2010 at the Misano World Circuit during the opening round of the Italian Prototypes Championship. Ivan Bellarosa dominated the whole weekend securing the pole position and the first of a long string of victories.

Since its winner debut in 2010, the Wolf GB08 proved to be the best CN 2 car, winning the The Wolf GB08 - frontItalian championship in 2010, and triumphing in the Speed Euroseries in 2011 and 2012. The Wolf GB08 had major aerodynamic upgrades in 2013, and the new car has won competitions all over Europe and in the USA. With a Honda K20-A 2.000cc, 255 hp engine, the GB08 features lightning-fast acceleration, nimble cornering and excellent braking. This car drives like a dream on the track and CEO John Morris will be offering test rides to interested members during the November Club race weekend.

Beginning in January 2016 the Wolf GB08 will become a part of the Club race experience and will race along with the Radicals in a separate class. We have changed the name of our series to Spring Mountain Racing to incorporate the latest addition to our fleet.

Michelin Corvette Challenge to Debut at Spring Mountain

Stingray-based spec-racing series launches with 15-race season

Today Spring Mountain Motor Resort & Country Club announced a new spec-racing series based around the award-winning 7th generation Corvette, the Corvette Stingray. The Michelin Corvette Challenge race series kicks off its inaugural season February 20, 2016 at Spring Mountain.

Corvette Challenge Race CarComposed of identically prepared, track-ready Corvette Stingray models, the series will feature 15 races over 8 weekends, utilizing multiple configurations of Spring Mountain’s 6.1-mile race track. With a unique season-long payment plan, competitors will simply arrive and drive for each event and take delivery of their Corvette Stingray following the season finale on December 10, 2016. The Ron Fellows Performance Driving School, based at Spring Mountain, will serve as the technical race partner for the series.

“The Corvette Stingray is one of the most track-capable production cars available and our enhancements simply augment the production specs to help ensure durability for a dedicated racing life,” said Ron Fellows. “With the cars mechanically on equal footing, driver skill will be the determining factor in the rankings, which should make it a very exciting series.”

The Ron Fellows Performance Driving School collaborated with Chevrolet and Michelin to develop the series, as well as the package of performance and safety equipment required for each participating race car. Many of the performance components are derived from a new portfolio of Corvette Z06-based parts from Chevrolet. They’re designed to enhance the handling, braking, cooling and downforce performance of the Stingray. Chevrolet will display a Corvette Stingray Z51-based concept race car featuring the new Z06-based parts at the SEMA Show, in Las Vegas.

Below is the schedule for the 2016 series, with each race weekend featuring a pair of 30-minute races on the challenging Spring Mountain circuit:

Club Race Weekend – November 21-22

Don’t miss the final two race weekends of the year!

Join us for an action-packed November Club race weekend! The fun begins with the Saturday and Sunday Drivers Meeting at 8:00 am,Club Race Aerial followed by 25 minutes of Orientation laps at 50 mph speeds (flashers required.) 25-minute sessions (Radicals, Sports Cars and non-racers) for practice, fun and qualifying will run throughout the day. This month once again we will feature ONE exciting Radical race for all three classes…Rookie, SR3 and Unlimited. A Miata Race will also be held on Saturday and Sunday. Racers, don’t miss this important weekend – you only have two more chances to increase your points for next month’s year-end awards banquet, December 12-13.This month the race will be held on the Mansell “E” 3.2-mile configuration, featuring sweeping corners, quick esses and off-camber turns. Your Friday practice sessions will be on the Mansell “E” configuration so you can prepare for the race weekend.

We are happy to announce that by popular demand, Bracket racing is back…….open to all members and all types of cars. This is a “non wheel to wheel” competitive race on Saturday afternoon that gives everyone a chance to win! A driver submits a lap time that will be used to determine “the gap”. At the start of the race the slowest car will be released first and each car thereafter will start according to the gap. In theory on the last lap, everyone should reach the finish line at the same time. The excitement of the race will build each lap as the drivers’ gaps close in and in anticipation of the final last lap. We hope to see all our members participate in this fun and competitive event!

Miata Race SpectatorsMiata Races. In addition to our Radical contest, a highlight of next weekend’s action-packed Club race weekend will be the Miata race on both Saturday and Sunday. Be sure to cheer on our Sports Car racers in this fun and exciting competition.

Friday Night Dinner and Movie Screening. You are invited to join us for a fun and festive “street taco” dinner with delicious fare by Chef Susan, along with a screening of the inspirational movie Senna, depicting the life and death of Brazilian motor-racing champion Ayrton Senna. The fun will begin at 5:00 pm in the Clubhouse.

Saturday night Banquet. Please join us for an evening of cocktails, dinner and celebration at theLuau at Club Spring Mountain Clubhouse on Saturday night, with a festive menu by Executive Chef Susan. Buffet breakfasts are included in your race fees. Lunches are $15.00 with pre-registration or $20.00 at the event, and Dinner is $35.00 with pre-registration or $40.00 at the event.

Grand Opening of the Aquatic Center

Jetpack America hosts a Fund Raiser for the Susan G. Komen Foundation

09 aquatic centerWater sports enthusiasts celebrated the grand opening of the Lake Spring Mountain Aquatic Center on Sunday, October 25th with jetpack/jetboard flights, paddle boarding, kayaks, food and drinks, all while helping to fight breast cancer. Jetpack America partnered with Susan G. Komen of Southern Nevada to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so all donations for flights were donated to this worthy cause.

Jetpack FlightsNews 3 from Las Vegas was on hand to provide live coverage of the event. Two Susan G. Komen representatives attended to watch the festivities, and everyone involved considered the Grand Opening a huge success.

A few weeks earlier we were pleased to welcome drag racing star and NHRA Top Fuel Driver Leah Pritchett to Lake Spring Mountain as she took a break from flying in the fast lane to flying in the sky with Jetpack America. Leah tried both the Jetpack and the Jetboard, and as she describes her experience, “This place rocks!”
