Thanksgiving greetings from Spring Mountain Motor Resort & Country Club, an oasis for those with a passion for adrenaline-charged performance driving. Fall racing is at its best in November with perfect conditions on the track and countless options for recreation in the desert and on the water. Enjoy fun for the whole family at our resort-style Clubhouse with sports activities including paddle-boarding, kayaking, volleyball and bike riding, or just relax with a massage and a cocktail in the luxurious Clubhouse lounge. Racers competing for year-end trophies and prizes: you only have a few more chances to add to your points totals, so make your plans to participate in the Sports Car and Light Sport Racer competitions at our next Club Race weekend on November 18-20.

Club Members and Staff Travel for Fun and Competition
Club Spring Mountain members Todd Snyder, Alan Miller (Indy Al), Miguel Grillo, and Ron Fletcher recently raced their SR3 Radicals at Sonoma Raceway in California. All of the members ran a great race and enjoyed the change in scenery, not to mention some fun competition on the track. Congratulations to everyone who finished on the podium and a special thanks to Sean McGray and Spring Mountain Racing for assisting in race car set-up.
We were happy to see Spring Mountain instructors Richie Hearn and Ricardo “Rico” Apolinar suited up in Beijing, China last week. A long way from Pahrump where the veteran instructors train students every day in performance driving, Rico and Richie were invited by Chevrolet to High Valley Auto Park as guest training hosts for the Gateway to NASCAR event.
October’s race weekend at Spring Mountain proved to be a fantastic showing with clean racing by all drivers. We opened the LSR Unlimited class to IMSA Lite and Stohr cars to compete in this month’s race. Thank you to all the new and seasoned members who competed in the Light Sport and Miata competitions.
Last month our races took place on the new 3.22-mile Clark race course, and this was the first time we ran that configuration for a race weekend. The course was named after the great Jim Clark, Formula 1 champion.

Club Race Weekend – November 18-20
Don’t miss the final two race weekends of the year!
Join us for an action-packed November Club race weekend! This month we are trying out a new schedule where you will continue to enjoy four full days of driving; however, the race days will now be held on Friday and Saturday with an open track day on Sunday. The weekend begins with the Friday and Saturday Drivers Meetings at 8:00 am, followed by 25-minute sessions (Light Sport Racer, Sports Cars and non-racers) for practice, fun and qualifying throughout the day. And of course, we will be holding races for LSR and Miata categories. In October we opened the LSR Unlimited class to IMSA Lite and Stohr cars to compete, and it was a fun and competitive weekend. This month we will again be racing with IMSA Lite and Stohr cars so get ready for some competition! Thank you to all the new and seasoned members who competed in the Light Sport and Miata contests.
Racers, don’t miss this important weekend – you only have two more chances to increase your points for next month’s race weekend and year-end awards banquet, December 8-10. This month’s race will be held on the fast and furious Fittipaldi “A” 3.6-mile configuration, featuring high speed straights, a roller coaster, a launch pad and a catapult into Ego Check (see map for the corner names.) Practice sessions are available Thursday on the Fittipaldi track to prepare for the race weekend.
Miata Races. In addition to our Light Sport Racing contest, a highlight of next weekend’s action-packed Club race weekend will be the Miata races. Be sure to cheer on our Sports Car racers in this fun and exciting competition.
Friday night Banquet. Please join us for an evening of cocktails, dinner and celebration at the Club Spring Mountain Clubhouse on Friday night (please note our new day for the banquet with the schedule change) with a festive menu by Executive Chef Susan. Buffet breakfasts are included in your race fees. Lunches are $15.00 with pre-registration or $20.00 at the event, and Dinner is $35.00 with pre-registration or $40.00 at the event.
