Club Spring Mountain News – October 2018
Live Your Best Life at the Club
October brings more Excitement to our Community
At Club Spring Mountain we’re living the dream, with opportunities for adrenaline pursuits and adventures at your oasis in the
desert. October is a beautiful time of year to visit the Club and to bring your loved ones to experience the lifestyle we enjoy. In addition to road racing excitement, October’s race weekend features a guided off-road trail ride, and a visit by Cenegenics age management specialist, Dr. Shahab Mokhtare. See below for more details, and refer to the Club calendar for details on upcoming events.
Spring Mountain Estates, our private community with 80 home and mixed-use lots, is exploding, with more members planning and building their own trackside properties. Progress on our residential projects has accelerated, and we will be seeing more housing starts than ever. In addition to Alain Derzie and Brandon & Chelse Rambo’s homes, construction has begun on Desert Pirate Properties and Brad & Wendy Rambo’s parcels. Alex Motola, Richard Carlson and Eric Collins are expected to begin construction on their homes in October, and John Melsom, Mark Stidham and Jim Wulfenstein are ready to break ground in November. Our beautiful new website for Spring Mountain Estates, designed by Kristy Melgoza, has recently gone live, so check back often for information on available sites, home options, development news and more.
Our $13.4M Water and Sewer Treatment plant is undergoing extensive chlorine testing this week prior to submission to the State of Nevada for final approval. Progress on the Commercial development is also moving along, with meetings with Great Basin Water District and public hearings with the planning commission. Construction begins this season on a 125-room Hotel, Casino, Starbucks and two additional restaurant pads, by Majestic Properties, a leading Commercial Real Estate developer.
Looking forward to seeing you this month at one of our exciting events.
Member News
Nick Kelley and Terry Lee in the Spotlight

Dr. Terry Lee, Charter Member from Kansas City, was in the news this summer on KCTV 5, featured in a special report by Neal Jones about his love for racing. For 19 years Terry has dedicated his life to helping others as a Radiologist, and while looking for an escape from the high pressure world of medicine he discovered a passion for race cars. Terry visits the Club about once per month, driving his F-1000 Formula Car. As Terry points out, “Nothing else I have done is quite like it,” and we’re certain our members would agree.
Cenegenics – Age Management Success
Look Better, Feel Better and Race Faster with this Proven Program
On Friday, October 12, we are pleased to have Dr. Shahab Mokhtare, Partner, Cenegenics Las Vegas, in our presence. Cenegenics is a leader in age management medicine with over 35,000 patients, taking a comprehensive approach to preventive medicine to achieve optimal health rather than the traditional approach of treating diseases as they arise. The average Cenegenics patient reduces their body fat index by 30% in the first year on the program. CEO John Morris recently met Dr. Mokhtare during his consultation and was impressed with the program from the start.
After earning a Bachelor of Science from UC Irvine, Dr. Mokhtare earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, one of the largest medical educators in the world, followed by the completion of a family medicine practice at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, and training and certification in age management medicine via Cenegenics® Medical Institute. He realized his passion for preventive medicine and patient care—seeing age management medicine as a perfect fit, quickly becoming a partner with the Cenegenics Institute. Dr. Mokhtare is an avid Crossfit athlete who follows a Paleolithic nutritional diet. His goal is to guide patients to a new level of health and fitness, helping them stave off age-related disease.

After getting on the program (and believe me I could be better and work out more than once a week) I started to feel better and my workouts showed results. I lost 10 pounds, lost a waist size, and started feeling and looking better. At 55 years old I feel 35 and some days I feel 25 again.
The facts are the facts: In my first year (October 2016-2017) I dropped 7% body-fat from 32% down to 25%. This is equivalent to 18 lbs of muscle gained and 12 lbs of fat lost.
I would definitely recommend Cenegenics to my friends so we can race cars in our 80’s and maybe beyond!”
Dr. Mokhtare will be in the Clubhouse throughout the day Friday with information for members about the Cenegenics program, and is looking forward to answering your questions.

In Remembrance
Andrea May “Andie” Gostlin

Andi, wife of 53 years to Keith Gostlin, Charter Member, will be remembered as a faithful friend, generous and giving; resilient and loyal; nonjudgmental and compassionate; and eternally optimistic. She was a lover of animals; was known for her culinary expertise and love of entertaining, and she will be missed by many of her friends at the track. To celebrate her life, immediate family gathered together to share memories and prepare her favorite foods. Our sincere condolences go out to Keith and his family.
