New Offerings for Our Club Members
More track time, more flexibility, and more ways to enjoy Spring Mountain
| | |
We’ve heard your feedback — and we’re listening. Enhancing the member experience across our already exceptional facility remains a top priority.
One of our key goals is to offer Club Member Track Days every Thursday through Sunday, creating a more consistent and reliable schedule. No more wondering if there will be a track day…the only question will be which configuration we’ll be running that week. For the rest of 2026 there is only one date, March 5 , where we cannot make that happen.
| |
We also want to reinforce that Race Weekends are for everyone, not just racers. Looking ahead, our goal is to provide two-track access whenever possible…one track dedicated to racing, and a secondary track open to non-racers for a traditional member day experience on Friday and Saturday between the hours of 9 am to 4 pm.
Starting Saturday, February 28, we’re introducing a new monthly reason to come out and experience your Club in a fresh way.
For our first featured weekend, we’ll have hosted instructors on site to help members get more comfortable on Charleston Peak, running counterclockwise. Whether you’re looking for a quick introduction or a more focused coaching session, our instructors will be available to point you in the right direction — and private instruction can be booked in advance for those who want more track time and guidance.
The weekend will culminate with a fun Time Attack Challenge on Saturday afternoon. Following lunch, we’ll host a one-hour Time Attack session, giving drivers the chance to put down their best lap and take a shot at the podium.
| |
Afterward, keep the momentum going with a private evening at the Clubhouse, featuring a dinner special and a friendly cornhole tournament.
These events will be open to all Club members and invited guests, and we welcome your input as we continue building the Spring Mountain lifestyle both on and off the track.
Looking for something different? Tell us which activities you would like to see.
We’re excited about what’s ahead and can’t wait to share more with you soon. See you around the Club.

Around the Grounds: Hidden Gems
Life at the Lake…Your Favorite Spot to Unwind, Recharge, and Take it all in
| | |
Have you spent time by the lake lately? Between the beautiful views, the relaxing atmosphere, and the exciting improvements continuing in that area, it’s quickly becoming one of the best places to gather, whether you’re winding down after track time or simply enjoying the day.
With our Lakeside Casitas nearby for overnight stays, cozy firepits perfect for evening conversation, pickleball courts just steps away, and more enhancements on the horizon, the lake area is truly evolving into a hub for members and guests alike.
Take a stroll, grab a seat, and soak it all in — this is Spring Mountain at its most peaceful and picturesque.

Member Spotlight – Gerhard Watzinger
International Racing Champion and Club Member since 2007
| | |
We are proud to celebrate Club Spring Mountain member Gerhard Watzinger, who recently earned an incredible victory at the 24 Hours of Dubai, one of the world’s premier endurance races. Other Club Spring Mountain members who participated were Gregg Gorski, Patrick Liddy, and Tanner Harvey. This win marks Gerhard’s third first-place finish in Dubai, adding to an extraordinary résumé that includes victories at the 24 Hours of Sebring and Barcelona.
Gerhard has been part of the Spring Mountain family since 2007, and his racing career has been remarkable from the very beginning. In his first year of competition, he was named Rookie of the Year and broke a lap record at Spring Mountain driving a Radical SR3. That same year, he captured the U.S. Championship in the Radical SR8 Prototype Series, earning opportunities to race at Spa-Francorchamps and drive a Le Mans prototype in Europe.
Since then, Gerhard has competed around the globe in FIA, IMSA, ACO, SCCA, SRO, and other major sanctioned series. He went on to earn his FIA Pro License, compete six times at Le Mans, and achieve multiple wins at the legendary Spa circuit.
Among his favorite career moments are the four times he drove Lewis Hamilton’s Formula 1 car at Silverstone, COTA, Paul Ricard, and Abu Dhabi. Reflecting on his journey, Gerhard shares: “John Morris gave me a ride in his Radical LM500 in 2007. The rest is history — and he introduced me to the most wonderful chapter in my life. Without becoming total racing nuts, we would have not started our F1 journey and become the second largest sponsor (CrowdStrike) for the Mercedes F1 team.”
From the Club to the world stage, Gerhard exemplifies the passion and excellence of our racing community. Congratulations, Gerhard — we are honored to celebrate your success.
Club Spring Mountain is more than a racetrack — it’s the people who make this place extraordinary. Have a member story to share? Contact us at jerra@racespringmountain.com.
