THE OFFICIAL CLUB SPRING MOUNTAIN NEWSLETTER ………………………………..JUNE 2025

John Morris, 1947-2025: A Life at Full Throttle

Remembering the Man Whose Passion and Leadership Shaped Our Journey

We are saddened to share that our beloved Chairman and visionary founder, John Morris, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025 in San Clemente, California, surrounded by his family and closest friends.

John’s passion, leadership, and relentless drive were the foundation upon which Club Spring Mountain was built. His dream was not only to create an extraordinary motorsports destination but also to foster a vibrant, welcoming community — one that so many of you have helped shape alongside him.

While this is an immeasurable loss, we assure you that the Club remains in strong and capable hands. The leadership team John assembled is deeply committed to honoring his vision and ensuring the continued growth and excellence of Club Spring Mountain.

All of the projects John initiated will continue to completion, so the legacy he imagined will be fulfilled. Our race season will proceed as scheduled, and all Club operations will continue seamlessly.

Elizabeth McGee, our Membership Director, and Courtney Pryor, our Club Coordinator, remain your dedicated points of contact for all things Club-related and are here to support you during this time.

Please save the date for a Celebration of Life honoring John Morris, to be held at Spring Mountain on Friday, September 12, 2025. We look forward to coming together as a community to remember and celebrate John’s remarkable life and legacy. Further details will be shared in the coming weeks.

Visit his official obituary page to leave a tribute. Thank you for being a part of the community that meant so much to him.

We’re excited to see James out on the track, making the most of the facilities, forging new friendships, and becoming part of the vibrant culture that makes Club Spring Mountain so special.

Be sure to say hello and introduce yourself next time you see him at the track — welcome to the family, James!

Lake & Casitas Update – We’re Making Waves!

Big Progress at the Lake: Rentals, Recreation, and Refreshing Updates All Around

Big news — we just received official approval to turn on the water at the Casitas on the Lake. Over the next few days, we’ll be checking each unit top to bottom — making sure the showers are hot, toilets flush, and everything is running smoothly. We anticipate Casita rentals to be available within the next two weeks. As part of this transition, we’ll also be relocating guests from the condos to free up those units for further renovations.

Pickleball fans, get ready. The new benches with shade covers are being installed, and both will be in place by tomorrow. We’ve already laid over 5,000 square feet of real grass, with more coming early next week. How about a few Thursday pickleball matches to break in the new setup?

As for the lake — it’s officially in action. We’re now using lake water to irrigate the surrounding landscape and support wet paddock exercises. We’ll be treating the lake with chemicals to balance and clear it, and with the help of our turnover systems and aerators, we’re aiming for swim-ready water just in time for Race Weekend.

Exciting things are happening — stay tuned and pack your paddles and your swimsuits.
