Season in Motion
Momentum Builds with Exciting Developments Taking Shape

June is underway at Club Spring Mountain, bringing longer days, lively energy, and a full calendar of activity across the property. From early-morning track sessions to evenings by the lake, the season is settling into full stride, with new faces on track and plenty happening around the Club. Looking forward to a busy summer!
Momentum continues throughout Charleston Peak, where visible progress is taking shape. We’re making ongoing improvements to enhance the member experience, and we’re excited about the additions coming in the months ahead.

With the final race weekend of the 2025/2026 season next weekend, the Club is preparing to celebrate another remarkable season on track. Members will gather for the Year-End Awards Banquet on Friday, June 5, an evening dedicated to honoring achievements, friendships, and unforgettable moments. (More information can be found in the Race Weekend article below.)
With an exciting close to the season, we’re looking forward to another memorable race weekend with our valued Club members.

National Spotlight on Karting
Championship Event brings Top Drivers and Major Coverage

The Spring Mountain Karting complex will take center stage May 29–31 as it hosts the Champions of the Future America series, one of the fastest-growing competitive karting programs in North America. The event is expected to draw more than 120 drivers from across the country, bringing a full weekend of high-level racing and energy to the facility.
Adding to the excitement, Kart Chaser will be on-site throughout the weekend, filming and broadcasting coverage of the event, further shining a spotlight on the growing momentum surrounding karting at Spring Mountain. The Champions of the Future America series follows FIA-style karting standards and continues to attract some of the sport’s most promising young talent.
The event also marks the completion of the first half of the Spring Mountain Karting race season. Competition will resume September 19–20 with the next SMK Series race weekend as the season continues later this year.

Summer Hours & Fun Weekends
Trackside or Poolside, Fun Opportunities to Enjoy Club Life Together

The 2026–2027 season is already taking shape at Club Spring Mountain, with race weekends and summer social gatherings giving members plenty to look forward to in the months ahead.
The following race weekends are confirmed for the 2026–2027 season:
- September 18–19
- October 16–17
- November 13–14
- December 4–5
Summer Hours
As summer arrives at the Club, seasonal hours begin Thursday, June 11, and continue through Labor Day Weekend, with track hours running from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Additional dates and details will be shared as the schedule continues to develop.

Summer Social Weekends
Even during the quieter summer months, the Club remains a vibrant place to gather, relax, and enjoy time together. On select non-race weekends this summer, members can look forward to casual afternoons at the lake and pool behind the clubhouse…the perfect way to beat the heat and enjoy the Club with friends and family.
Summer hours will remain in effect during these weekends.

Spencer Schmidt Races on Formula 1’s Big Weekend | | Spencer Schmidt at the Miami Grand Prix, April 2026 | | |
When Club Spring Mountain member Spencer Schmidt arrived in Miami in April, he wasn’t just attending one of the most glamorous weekends in motorsports—he was racing as part of the action.
Competing in the McLaren Trophy America during the Miami Grand Prix, Spencer found himself immersed in the energy, intensity, and spectacle that only Formula 1 can deliver.“It was electric,” Spencer said. “Without the draw of a huge Formula 1 event, I might not have been able to close my first major sponsor. I’ll put up with the logistical challenges any time.”
Turning Opportunity Into Momentum
Spencer’s road to Miami began just weeks earlier at Sonoma Raceway, when he was asked to fill in for an injured driver. With virtually no seat time in the McLaren Trophy Evo II, Spencer and co-driver Tommy Pintos stunned the field by earning two pole positions and sweeping both races overall.
That breakout performance set off a whirlwind of phone calls, emails, and sponsorship pitches. After two intense weeks of networking, Spencer secured Copart as the primary sponsor, making the trip to Miami possible.

Racing on Formula 1’s Stage
In Miami, Spencer teamed with co-driver Alex Pollard in the Pro-Am class. The pair exceeded expectations, finishing second in class and ninth overall against a highly competitive field.
Alex delivered an impressive opening stint, charging from 19th on the grid and passing seven cars on the opening lap. Spencer then took over and held off accomplished professional driver Matt Bell for his entire stint. One surreal highlight came during pit stops, which took place on the same pit lane used by Formula 1 teams.“It was pretty incredible pulling into the Aston Martin pit box for our driver change,” Spencer said. “I almost missed the box the first time because I was taking it all in.”
Racing in His Blood
Motorsports has been part of Spencer’s life from the beginning. His father raced in the 1990s and later built one of the most successful teams in Indy Lights and IndyCar Series before selling a majority stake to McLaren Racing. Although Spencer grew up in the paddock, he didn’t begin racing until age 22.
“My first time in a race car was at 22 years old,” he said. “The only thing that came naturally to me was losing.”
Since then, his progress has been remarkable. In 2025, Spencer finished second in the Pro 1500 championship in the Radical Cup North America. His current goal is even bigger: capturing the McLaren Trophy championship and earning consideration for the McLaren Trophy Academy.

Finding a Home at Spring Mountain
Although Spencer officially joined Club Spring Mountain at the end of 2025, he has visited the facility many times over the years, having grown up in Las Vegas. “Even in the short time I’ve been a member, it has been huge to get off-season seat time so close to home,” he said.
What has impressed him most is the community itself. “Everyone has been incredibly welcoming and encouraging. They keep telling me I need to come out more, spend time at the Club, and race in the Radical weekends.”
Eyes on the Championship
Next up for Spencer is Road Atlanta, one of his favorite circuits, where he’ll continue his pursuit of the 2026 McLaren Trophy America championship.
For Spencer, success in racing comes down to dedication and consistency. “Racing is equal parts mental and physical,” he said. “I truly believe that anyone who wants it badly enough can do it.”
From Club Spring Mountain to the Formula 1 stage, Spencer Schmidt is proving that perseverance, preparation, and passion can open extraordinary doors. And for this rising driver, the journey is only just beginning.

Race Weekend Returns June 4–7
Club Racing, Track Time, and Unforgettable Evenings at the Club.

Race Weekend returns June 4–7 on the Charleston Peak Full CCW 3.23-mile course, bringing together competitive racing, warm summer days, and the unmistakable energy of a full Club weekend. Members can enjoy everything from thrilling on-track action to relaxed time around the Club, with the East Course remaining open for non-racing members on Friday, June 5.
Race weekends at Club Spring Mountain are designed for the entire membership, whether you’re competing on track or simply enjoying the atmosphere around the Club. Members are warmly encouraged to join us for the Friday night Awards Banquet, an evening of great food, celebration, and community open to all members, not just racers. On Thursday, spouses and guests can unleash their creativity while designing and decorating their own custom trucker hats.
And don’t forget: the Club Spring Mountain App remains the best resource for checking track configurations, weekend schedules, and upcoming activities. Members can also count on dedicated member track days every Thursday through Sunday throughout the season.

Guests at this year’s Awards Banquet will enjoy an exceptional culinary experience at the Clubhouse prepared by Chef Adam, featuring everything from fresh sushi boats and mini lobster rolls to carved prime rib, chicken cacciatori, flavorful lechon, and comforting classics with elevated touches throughout. The evening will conclude on a sweet note with a playful donut wall, along with cookies and milk — the perfect finish to a memorable celebration of the season.
The festivities continue after dinner with cocktails on the back patio, music from a live DJ, and a few exciting surprises planned for later in the evening.
