SKUSA Pro Kart Challenge Recap

Spring Mountain Karting Complex Brings Back Kart Racing to Nevada

The wait to bring pro kart racing back to Nevada came to an end when SKUSA hosted their second event of the season, making its inaugural visit to the Spring Mountain Karting Complex on April 12-13, 2025. More than 130 drivers raced on the North Track for the event, a .73-mile replica of the former X-Plex course.

“We were thrilled by the incredible turnout,” said Tom Lovelady, SMK General Manager. The event went extremely well, with many drivers complimenting the track and the asphalt condition. Of course, we learned some lessons we can take into the next event, but it was a blast to work with SKUSA and their exceptional staff.

“Everything about this new facility is five-star,” commented ProKart Challenge series owner Tom Kutscher, then further offered his compliments saying “It is a world-class track and something the West Coast karting community has been lacking for a long time.”

As the event neared its end, the excitement from drivers to come back and experience the Full Track configuration was positively overwhelming, and Lovelady has further expressed the importance of this event for us as we continue to grow. After many years of planning how to make it perfect, this event gave us the spotlight for racers, teams, and their families to experience everything we have to offer. He continued, “It made us feel like we’ve truly become a part of the karting community now, and we’re looking forward to many more great racing events in the future.”

“Everything about this new facility is five-star… It is a world-class track”
