Club Spring Mountain News - January 2019

Happy New Year 2019

Reflecting on a Year filled with New Beginnings

01 newyearHappy New Year from all of us at Club Spring Mountain! In 2019 our resolution is to continue providing the highest-quality amenities, events and services for our valued members. Although Spring Mountain Motor Resort and Country Club is growing rapidly, our core values remain solid with sincere gratitude for the support and friendship from our valued members.

2018 was a year of important milestones and accomplishments, listed below:

02 miataThe first quarter of 2018 marked significant progress on the $13.7 Million Water and Sewer Treatment plant serving Spring Mountain Estates, the Commercial development and surrounding areas. Paving of the main road from the Aquatic center to members' homes was completed, and the water tanks to supply the development were installed. Water, sewer, electric and fiber services were connected for all trackside lots, and a six foot block wall was built along the top portion of the property.

Nevada Department of Transportation approved a separate entrance to the commercial center, and Silverton Resort & Casino's team of developers conducted traffic studies, drainage and electrical line surveys prior to the beginning of construction.

03 mapIn March plans emerged for the development of the 621 acres adjacent to the facility in the process of being acquired from the BLM. The proposed track on the northwest section of the new property will feature multiple options for configurations, both clockwise and counter clockwise, more open space with high speed straights, and a 200-foot elevation change. Future development will include a 7050 foot drag strip. Preliminary surveys and drainage studies for elevation and flood control determined the final layout of the course, the results of which were presented to the BLM as part of the acquisition process.

04 signApril brought a new electronic billboard soaring 30 feet into the skies at the entrance to the facility on Highway 160. The landmark measures 16x16 feet with a 12'x8' electronic display, featuring the Spring Mountain logo rising above the platform at the summit. The illuminated landmark lights up the area day and night.

The Sports Car Invitational was held May 4-6, with three memorable days of driving. Participants enjoyed time trials, bracket races, won prizes, ate gourmet meals, and received a commemorative windbreaker. Members showcased their one-of-a-kind cars at the Saturday night Concorso.

05 jackpotEscrow closed in July on approximately 7 acres of Commercial property at the entrance to the facility. The buyer is a leader in the industry, Majestic Realty Co. The largest privately-owned industrial developer in the United States, Majestic paves the way for our inaugural commercial offering with a major brand 110 room all-suite hotel and casino, restaurant and retail shops. Preparations are underway with Nye County for the start of construction. Also in July, the first members began construction on their homes in Spring Mountain Estates.

06 racingSpring Mountain Raceway was named as designated bidder in September on a 621-acre parcel of land north and east of the facility, which brings the total development to 950 acres. The acquisition of the two parcels, officially published in the Federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) registry, clears the way for our expansion. Currently the longest racetrack in North America at 6.1 miles, our plans are to become the longest road course in the world with a 16-mile total configuration.

In October our new website for Spring Mountain Estates, designed by Kristy Melgoza, went live, with information on available sites, home options, development news and more.

07 silvertonMajestic Realty, Developer of the Commercial project at the entrance to the facility, was granted a Conditional Use Permit in November for a 5-story Hotel and a Casino with a restaurant and Starbucks Coffee Company. The project was the first Commercial Development to be approved in Pahrump in 10 years. Included in the first phase of the project is a major brand 125-room all-suite Hotel and Silverton themed Casino with over 200 slots, 5 game tables, a sports book and café. Restaurant and retail opportunities will also be available on individual parcels fronting Highway 160.

08 letterNevada's Governor Brian Sandoval submitted a letter of support in December for the acquisition of 620 acres from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) with a sale date set for January 18.

Read the historical timeline for a complete listing of our development since the purchase of Spring Mountain in 2004.

2019 will be a remarkable year with more news to be revealed in the coming months. Thank you for coming along on this exciting ride with us. We are looking forward to making more memories in 2019.

Club and Facility News

Acquisition, Housing Starts and Maintenance

11 clubentranceThe acquisition of 621 acres from the Federal Bureau of Land Management is expected to be complete this month, and our development team is currently refining plans for the new section. The current layout includes two new buildings, one for Driver’s Meetings and Classrooms, and the other for Service, with bays for mechanical staff. A paddock area of 400 x 900 for classroom exercises, and a 3.02-mile road course is also being mapped out. To connect the sections, an interior road (near the kart building) is planned to the new road course, including paving Wheeler Road.

12 lakeBuilding within Spring Mountain Estates, our luxury home development with 80 residential and mixed-use lots, continues, with several new housing starts this month. Members starting construction in the next few weeks are Eric Collins, John Melsom and Lot 9. Members’ homes in the framing stage include Monica, Terry & Richard Carlson, and Alex Nicola. Larry Ricci’s home is ready for hanging drywall this week, Brandon & Chelse Rambo’s home is completed, and Alain Derzie’s is nearly complete.

To protect our resort-like environment, we established a new maintenance company to oversee Spring Mountain Estates, the condominiums, the streets and common area landscaping to be sure our 5-star resort remains in a pristine condition. First on the agenda was to upgrade the carpets in our luxury loft-style condominiums. Painting the condos is next, followed by numerous additional upgrades.

Member News

Nick Kelley and Terry Lee in the Spotlight

04 nick kellyCongratulations to our Platinum Member from down under, Nick Kelly, who won the 2018 CAMS Australian GT Trophy Series title after a suspenseful season finale last month at Winton Motor Raceway in Victoria, Australia. Driving an Industrie Audi, Nick topped both qualifying sessions to start Race 1 from pole, and ended the season over 20 points ahead of his nearest rival. We are looking forward to racing with Nick this season! Nick has purchased a parcel in Spring Mountain Estates, and will be building his own trackside home at the facility.05 terry lee

Dr. Terry Lee, Charter Member from Kansas City, was in the news this summer on KCTV 5, featured in a special report by Neal Jones about his love for racing. For 19 years Terry has dedicated his life to helping others as a Radiologist, and while looking for an escape from the high pressure world of medicine he discovered a passion for race cars. Terry visits the Club about once per month, driving his F-1000 Formula Car. As Terry points out, “Nothing else I have done is quite like it,” and we’re certain our members would agree.06 shahab mokhtare

Cenegenics – Age Management Success

Look Better, Feel Better and Race Faster with this Proven Program

On Friday, October 12, we are pleased to have Dr. Shahab Mokhtare, Partner, Cenegenics Las Vegas, in our presence. Cenegenics is a leader in age management medicine with over 35,000 patients, taking a comprehensive approach to preventive medicine to achieve optimal health rather than the traditional approach of treating diseases as they arise. The average Cenegenics patient reduces their body fat index by 30% in the first year on the program. CEO John Morris recently met Dr. Mokhtare during his consultation and was impressed with the program from the start.

After earning a Bachelor of Science from UC Irvine, Dr. Mokhtare earned his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine, one of the largest medical educators in the world, followed by the completion of a family medicine practice at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, and training and certification in age management medicine via Cenegenics® Medical Institute. He realized his passion for preventive medicine and patient care—seeing age management medicine as a perfect fit, quickly becoming a partner with the Cenegenics Institute. Dr. Mokhtare is an avid Crossfit athlete who follows a Paleolithic nutritional diet. His goal is to guide patients to a new level of health and fitness, helping them stave off age-related disease.

07 ron fletcherRon Fletcher, Platinum Member, is a believer. He states, “If you want to feel better, look better and live longer I highly recommend Cenegenics! I first saw an ad on TV and did not believe what they were selling but thought, what could it hurt? I had started to get lazy, was out of shape and did not feel like surfing as much. I still wanted to race, but who does not want to race?

After getting on the program (and believe me I could be better and work out more than once a week) I started to feel better and my workouts showed results. I lost 10 pounds, lost a waist size, and started feeling and looking better. At 55 years old I feel 35 and some days I feel 25 again.

The facts are the facts: In my first year (October 2016-2017) I dropped 7% body-fat from 32% down to 25%. This is equivalent to 18 lbs of muscle gained and 12 lbs of fat lost.

I would definitely recommend Cenegenics to my friends so we can race cars in our 80’s and maybe beyond!”

Dr. Mokhtare will be in the Clubhouse throughout the day Friday with information for members about the Cenegenics program, and is looking forward to answering your questions.

Club Spring Mountain News - September 2018

Big Changes on the Horizon

Acquisitions, Expansion and Major Forward Momentum

01 homesitesWe’re racing into the highly anticipated fall season at Club Spring Mountain with news about land acquisitions, track expansion, and significant changes to the skyline at the facility. As valued members you are witnessing some of the most exciting times in our history and we're thrilled you are along for the ride. During the summer, record numbers of motorsports enthusiasts have seen the vision and are investing in a Club membership to become a part of our promising future. Welcome to our newest members Randy and Karen Wonnenberg, Mike and Mary Greenberg and Paul Chamberlain. Please join us in making our new members feel at home.

02 mapSpring Mountain Raceway is the designated bidder on a 621-acre parcel of land north and east of the facility, which brings the total development to 950 acres. The acquisition of the two parcels, officially published in the Federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) registry, clears the way for us to expand with new track, more paddock area, structural improvements, and an airstrip for landing our members’ jets. Pictured is the preliminary layout of our future 2.67-mile road course, including a runway and taxiway. The proposed design will continue to evolve over the next few months. Currently the longest racetrack in North America at 6.1 miles, our plans are to become the longest road course in the world by 2020 with a 16-mile total configuration.

03 turtleThe first phase of the sale is expected to close January 20, and grading will begin in February 2019. Construction on the new track and runway must be completed by April 10 in time for our friends, the desert tortoise, indigenous to Mojave Desert, to emerge from hibernation and begin their natural migration patterns. Spring Mountain makes every effort to protect this threatened species from potentially harmful activity on the property.

Tune in to this video interview of John Morris by the Las Vegas Review Journal about the upcoming expansion.

04 renderingSpring Mountain Estates, our exclusive private residential community with 80 home and mixed-use lots, is growing fast, with more members planning and building the home of their dreams. Building your home at the track can be as easy as starting with one of our stunning pre-designed options. We have partnered with Double M Construction to provide a number of unique floorplans (pictured.) Whether you build your home with a private architect or start with one of our designs, you will become a part of one of the most exciting communities in the West.

05 constructionPlatinum Member Alain Derzie's luxury residence (pictured) within Spring Mountain Estates is making significant progress, with framing completed and temporary scaffolding installed. Construction should be completed by the end of Fall. Brandon and Chelse Rambo's home is nearly finished, and it won't be long before we see more members enjoying their own private paradise at the track.

For more information on how you can live the dream and own your own parcel at Spring Mountain Estates, contact Mike Weeks, VP of Sales, via email clubcoordinator@racespringmountain.com,, or by phone 949-235-7810.

06 water treatmentConstruction on our Water & Sewer Treatment plant is nearly complete: two massive 600-gallon water tanks have been filled and paving is underway on the surrounding area, along with final testing of the system prior to turning over operations to Great Basin Water Co. The $13.7M project will serve Spring Mountain Estates, the commercial development and surrounding areas.

Monumental changes to the skyline are on the horizon at the front entrance, with our commercial development poised to begin construction this season. Conditional use permits for a 125-room Hotel, Casino, Starbucks and two additional restaurant pads were applied for this summer by Majestic Properties. Construction on the project will begin in mid-October, and we are thrilled to offer our members more options for recreation, dining and entertainment at the facility.

We are grateful for your enthusiasm, friendship and support as we embark on a memorable season of change and growth. As always, our goal is to continue to provide a phenomenal Club experience for you and your guests.

The film was commissioned by the owner of the world-record-setting Agera RS, Mark Stidham, Platinum member. Members of our staff were graciously invited by Jeffrey Cheng and other members to the screening. Club Spring Mountain News - June 2018

Reflecting on 14 Years of Growth

The Twists and Turns Make it all Worthwhile

01 acreageThe years have flown by since Spring Mountain partners purchased 193-acres of desert land in June, 2004 with a 2.2-mile road course, a driving school with a fleet of 8 Corvettes, two tent structures and portable restrooms. A visionary's dreams led us to the destination now known as Spring Mountain Motor Resort & Country Club. Reality has surpassed expectations, and we are still striving to create a motorsports experience second-to-none in the world.

02 staffDuring this journey we have been lucky to work with the most incredible staff, some of whom have been with us since the beginning and share our passion for providing exceptional products and services to valued Club members, their families and friends. The team works hard all year to provide smooth-running, fun and successful events for our members and we cannot thank them enough for their tireless efforts. Our success is truly due to their loyalty and commitment to the Spring Mountain vision.

03 commercialpropertyOur dream to provide a total destination for members and guests will soon be realized with the closing of escrow on 7 acres of Commercial property at the entrance to the facility, sold to a leader in the industry, Majestic Realty Co. Majestic is the largest privately-owned industrial developer in the United States and we are honored to work with them to pave the way for our inaugural commercial offering. The first phase of development, including a major brand 110 room all-suite hotel and casino, restaurant and retail shops will be breaking ground in the Fall. Preparations are underway for the start of construction. Pictured is work in progress by Valley Electric Company to move several power lines for the hotel project.

04 constructionSpring Mountain Estates, our private residential community at the facility, is a reality, and the first property owners to begin construction are Brandon and Chelse Rambo with an expected completion date in the fall.

Our accomplishments would not have been possible without the support of our enthusiastic Club members who encouraged our ideas and were with us every step of the way. Please join us in celebrating 14 remarkable years of growth, innovation and achievements at Spring Mountain.

Club Members Endorse Nevada Leadership

Join us to Support Politicans Who Promote our Growth

05 deanhellerLast month we sponsored an informal lunch in support of U.S. Senator Dean Heller, and members have requested secure links for campaign donations. Spring Mountain is working with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in our acquisition of 600 acres adjacent to the facility and we have benefited by our local politicans’ support and guidance during the process. James Oscarson, Nevada Assemblyman in the 36th District, has provided tremendous leadership in our expansion endeavors. Pictured are Senator Heller and Assemblyman Oscarson addressing members during last month's race weekend.

We ask that you consider a contribution to Senator Heller and Assemblyman Oscarson’s campaigns. It is essential that both politicians continue their good work to safeguard our future development, along with tackling corporate growth, tax reform, programs for veterans and other important issues facing our country today.

To learn more about the candidates, or to make a tax-deductible campaign contribution, visit James Oscarson and Dean Heller's online headquarters.

Club Spring Mountain News - April 2018

Experience the Ultimate Adrenaline Rush

New Beginnings and Big Plans for the Future of the Club

01 hwy signJoin the fun at Club Spring Mountain for a lifestyle of adrenaline pursuits and more.
Drive the longest road course in North America and try our 6.1-mile circuit in a myriad of configurations. 8 different varieties are on the calendar this month alone to test your skills! With the sun shining year-round on our oasis in the desert, we are forecasting a bright future ahead for our members with new amenities to experience. Now is the time to make Club Spring Mountain your home away from home.

Talk about first impressions! Nobody will miss us now...a new electronic billboard soaring 30 feet into the desert skies was recently erected at the entrance to the facility on Highway 160. The landmark, designed by High Impact Signs, measures 16x16 feet with a 12'x8' electronic display, featuring the Spring Mountain logo rising above the platform at the summit. This illuminated landmark is guaranteed to light up the area day and night.

02 brandonchelseababyA big welcome to our newest members, Albert Youngwerth and Nathan Schweigart. And a shout-out to our youngest new member, Brixton Rambo, Brandon and Chelse's newborn son, who enjoyed some rookie seat time at last month's race weekend.

03 sports car invitationalCelebrate with us at the upcoming Sports Car Invitational, May 4-6, with exciting events planned and three memorable days of driving. Bring your friends who have been wanting to drive on the Spring Mountain track and enjoy the festivities. Each registered participant will have the opportunity to win prizes, savor gourmet meals courtesy of our Chef Susan DeLisle, and each will receive a commemorative windbreaker. Read more about the Sports Car Invitational below.

04 aerial view members homesLive in your happy place at Spring Mountain Estates, and own your own trackside property with high performance driving in your backyard. From cozy weekend race homes to spectacular showcases for your stable of vehicles, Spring Mountain Estates homeowners can access the finest road course in the nation. Mike Weeks, VP of Sales, can tell you more about how to own a piece of paradise. Call Mike today at 949-235-7810 to see available parcels.

05 track plotWe are still growing strong, with plans being formulated for the acquisition and development of 620 acres adjacent to the facility. The BLM land makes it possible for us to build new track, more paddock areas, and even an airstrip capable of landing our members' jets. We currently have the longest track in North America, but our goal is to build the longest road course in the world. The proposed layout at right is a schematic of a 16.07-mile track with countless numbers of potential driving configurations. (Please note this layout is subject to change.)

Our $13.4 Million Water and Sewer Treatment project is continuing on schedule and is nearly complete. The cul-de-sac lots have had their final grade, and paving of the area will continue during the next two weeks, with a final cap expected at the end of the month. Silverton Casino Resort’s plans are moving along for its mixed-use development project on a 7-acre portion of the commercial land at the entrance. The project is expected to break ground in the summer of 2018.

None of our progress would be possible without your enthusiasm and confidence, and we thank you sincerely for your membership.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Club this month!
