Facility Development Update

Big Changes to the Skyline Coming Soon

03 Water TanksHere's the latest news from the construction zone...significant progress has been made on the $13.4 Million Water and Sewer Treatment Project. Paving on the main road from the Aquatic center to existing member’s homes has just been completed. The massive water tanks to supply the development have been installed and are scheduled for painting. Water, sewer, electric and fiber services have been connected for all track side lots, and a six foot block wall is under construction along property lines. Soon the primary sewer tanks will arrive on the property, and weather permitting, we remain on schedule for completion of the project this spring.

Planning for the new Spring Mountain Commercial Center, which will be open to the public, is progressing rapidly. Nevada Department of Transportation approved a separate entrance to the commercial center, and Silverton Resort & Casino's team of developers are conducting traffic studies, drainage and electrical line surveys prior to the beginning of construction. Ground is expected to break this summer on a major brand 110 room all-suite hotel and casino with over 200 slots, 5 game tables, a sports book and café, along with restaurant and retail opportunities. Phase II of Spring Mountain Commercial Center is now in the conceptual stage, so stay tuned for more news in the near future.

Excitement is building for Spring Mountain Estates04 Member Home Under Development, our private residential development with 80 custom lots, as we will soon see construction starts on Club member’s fabulous new homes around the perimeter of the track. More members are buying lots on-property and trackside to build the home of their dreams.

The Energy Project Next Door

Energy Storage Train to be built near Spring Mountain

05 aresA unique clean energy development is now underway in our own back yard. Advanced Rail Energy Storage, LLC “ARES” was recently granted a lease by the Bureau of Land Management on acreage near Spring Mountain. The 50-megawatt project will be comprised of 106 acres of public land with a goal to help stabilize the electric grid.

Using the power of gravity, ARES Nevada will store energy and release it when needed. As the system doesn’t require the use of water, it is perfect for the desert with minimal environmental impact. Using a railroad track on a 7.2% slope, multiple electric locomotive cars move up the grade as they receive excess power from solar and wind power plants during sunny and windy days. The train cars will remain available and, when needed, will be dispatched slowly downhill, using their motor-generators to return power to the electricity grid.

This is the first project of its kind in the world, requiring no water or fossil fuels, and creating no hazardous waste or emissions – right here in Pahrump, Nevada!

For more information about the project, visit the ARES website.
