Club Members Race and Dominate at COTA

Radical teams from across the USA, including Radical West Racing, descended upon the Radical Festival05 george doug ron event at the iconic Formula 1 Circuit of the Americas race course near Austin, Texas last weekend. Several of our own Club Spring Mountain members competed, including Dave Struss, Greg Boehme, George Kurtz, Doug Ramirez, John Thompson, Ron Fletcher, Kelvin Bloom and Greg Gorski.

It was an exciting and memorable weekend for all of the participants. George Kurtz took the SR3 win on the podium Saturday despite some stiff competition and a car that misfired through half the course.

06 cota podiumCongratulations are also extended to Ron Fletcher for dominating the SR3 class on Sunday, qualifying on pole and winning both races. Amazing battles had between George Kurtz and Radical rookie Richard Thomas all weekend long. Doug Ramirez took a well deserved podium finish in the final race.

Circuit of the Americas (COTA) is a grade 1 FIA specification 3.427-mile motor racing facility located in Elroy, on the southwestern periphery of Austin city limits, in Central Texas. COTA plays host to the Formula One United States Grand Prix and has long been on the bucket list of many Club Spring Mountain members.
