02 bikingApril features some special events, beginning with our Club Race Weekend, April 7-10 on the Mansell “C” 3.4-mile course. Members can participate in Time Attacks and Wheel to Wheel competitions with only a few months left to accumulate points toward those year-end totals. Also, on April 22-24, the southern California chapter of the Audi Club will be running with us on the Andretti "B" (Friday) and the Mansell "C" (Saturday and Sunday.) Samantha will have more information for you as the time draws near.

Facility Development Update

Hotel/Casino Project; Expansion throughout Facility

Last month members drove our premier 3.23-mile circuit, Charleston Peak, for the first time 04 new trackduring Race Weekend, to rave reviews. This month we will be running Charleston Peak "short" 2.15-mile configuration after the last race on Saturday and all day Sunday. Finishing touches, such as a state-of-the-art Track lighting control system by Race America and the corner stations, are under design and locations are being determined. Our colossal 9-acre paddock has been completed, and is already in full-time use for advanced driving school exercises.

05 towerConstruction projects that are either in the planning stages or underway include (1) a new 12,000 square foot storage building for Corvettes; (2) renovation of our original white tents from 2004; (3) an extension to the Welcome Center/Pro Shop at the entrance; (4) Clubhouse expansion to add a walk-in cooler and additional storage; (5) an expansion of the original kart building near the west track entrance, with 6 additional bathrooms on the backside of the building; (6) Administration building remodel, converting the classroom into offices for Accounting and Administrative staff; (7) Showroom expansion, adding 8 offices along the back wall; and (8) painting the Trackside Condominiums.

06 garagesProjects planned for this year include the new Go-kart track, which is currently in the mapping and environmental stage for tortoise permitting. Look for future updates on the progress, which is dependent upon clearance from US Fish & Wildlife for the tortoise permit. The new garage building is close to completion, and will be ready for occupancy in a few weeks. Additional projects include the Track Control building, which is in architectural review with new renderings expected soon.

Spring Mountain Estates, our luxury residential development at the facility with 80 home and mixed-use lots, has three homes in the building department, with construction beginning soon.

07 modelCommercial Property Development News: Majestic Realty and The Silverton Group will hold a groundbreaking event this month at the site this month, and construction begins thereafter on a Silverton-branded Casino, a 4-story Marriott Hotel, Restaurant, and retail shops. Wulfenstein Construction has been awarded the contract for grading and paving for the $107 MM project. (Model of the new development pictured here.)


Club Race Weekend – April 7-10

Join your Friends for Fun and Competition on the Mansell "C" 3.4-Mile Course

08 race prepThe Spring Mountain 2021-2022 Race Series, presented by Blue Marble Ultra-Premium Cocktails, Dakine, and Vertra, continues this month on the Mansell "C" 3.4-mile racecourse. Beautiful race conditions are expected for the weekend's events, with temperatures ranging from the mid 80s to the high 50's with mostly sunny skies above. Please be advised we are still adhering to our health and safety practices and limiting the number of people in the Clubhouse so pay close attention to the posted schedule while you are on the property as it is subject to change.

09 race shadeYour weekend begins Thursday at 9:00 am with open track featuring Sports Cars at the top of the hour and Prototypes at the bottom of the hour. Lunch will be served in the Clubhouse and the track will be closed from 12:00-1:00 pm. Again from 1:00-4:00 pm, open track will be available with Sports Cars at the top of the hour and Prototypes at the bottom of the hour. The Bar opens at 4 pm with a limited menu served from 5-7 pm in the Clubhouse. The Clubhouse closes at 8 pm.

10 winnersFriday starts at 7:00 am with Race Day Registration and Tech Inspections. Mandatory Drivers meetings for Sports Cars begin at 7:30 am and Prototype (Radical and Wolf cars) at 7:50 am, followed by open sessions and qualifying for both categories. Track Maintenance is at 10:00 am, followed by Sports Car Time Attacks races, the Prototype Pre grid, and the Prototype Race #1 at 11:30 am. The track will be closed from 12-1 (lunch will be served in the Clubhouse for Sports Car drivers from 11:15-12:00 pm and for Prototype drivers from 12:30-1:15 pm) with the Sports Cars W2W Race at 1:30 pm. At 2 pm, Track Maintenance and Pace Car Warm-up begins, followed by Prototype Pregrid and Prototype Race #2 at 2:45 pm. The track will be closed at 3:15 pm. The bar opens at 4 pm, and our Friday night dinner will be served at 6:30 pm, including a fun and exciting Cornhole Tournament! Who will take down our current Cornhole champions Tom Lovelady and Teddy Landau.

Saturday's activities begin at 7:00 am11 social with race day registration and tech inspections, followed by open sessions for Sports Car and Prototype categories. Track maintenance followed by the Sports Car Time Attacks races begins at 9:35 am, with track maintenance and Prototype pregrid at 11:10 am. The Prototype Race #3 starts at 11:30 am, with podium immediately following. The track will be closed from 12-12:50 pm, with lunch served from 11:15-12:00 pm for Sports Car drivers and from 12:30-1:15 pm for Prototype drivers. At 12:50 pm, the Sports Car W2W pregrid will be held followed by the Sports Car W2W race at 1:10 pm and podium immediately following. Beginning at 2:00 pm, 25-minute open sessions for Prototype and Sports Cars will be held until 4:00. The track will be closed at 4:00 pm. The Bar opens at 2:30 pm.

12 race techSunday begins at 9:00 am with open track with 40 minute sessions featuring Sports Cars at the top of the hour and Prototypes at the bottom of the hour. Lunch will be served in the Clubhouse and the track will be closed from 12:00-1:00 pm. At 4:00 pm the track will be closed.
