Celebrate the Season at Club Spring Mountain

01 lineupWelcome to our holiday wonderland in the desert where you can hear the roar of engines and feel the rush of adrenaline! Our December Club festivities are early this month – beginning November 30 through December 3 – and will feature a 3-hour endurance race on Saturday that will be scored separately from our regular race season. Guest drivers are invited to participate in this fun weekend event. The Clubhouse is decked out for the holidays, so come out and raise a glass with your friends to celebrate the end of a spectacular year! Refer to our Event Calendar to plan your track visits this month and through 2024.

02 hugJoin us for a fun and festive Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Thursday, November 30 at the newly completed Control Tower in the Charleston Peak circuit. We are meeting at the base of the tower no later than 4:15 pm after race weekend practice sessions. Beverages will be served, and you can check out the multi-level views as you make your way to the top for us to have a toast just as the sun is setting. Sunset is at 4:30 and the views will be spectacular.

We would like to extend a big welcome to our newest Club Spring Mountain members, Jason and Holly Horwitz of Las Vegas, 03 happyNevada. Jason and Holly were referred to us by Len Krick. We look forward to seeing you both at the track and at our Club events.

Facility Development Update

Control Tower Ribbon Cutting, Special Projects, and Stunning Estate Homes

04 towerOur multi-story luxury Control Tower is now complete, and we are excited to host a Ribbon Cutting ceremony Thursday, November 30 at sunset, during Race Weekend festivities. The tower features a section for race spotters and soars 55 feet above the track, providing perfect visibility of our newest premier race circuit, Charleston Peak. We look forward to hosting Club events with lots of space for spectators to view the entire Charleston Peak area.

The newly-updated design consists of a lower lounge area on the first floor, with the second and third floors designated for track viewing and the fourth floor utilized for race control. (Click to enlarge the drawing.)

05 viewingNew Clubhouse kitchen improvements and upgrades to our safety and security at Spring Mountain have been completed under the direction of Zac Dowdell, Operations Facilitator. Upgrades include: (1) A new walk-in freezer and refrigerator and kitchen equipment upgrades, increasing our food service capacity to meet our growing needs; (2) Newly refinished decks around the Clubhouse and Pool; (3) A new security camera system with instant feedback, including 100 cameras, a mobile viewing app, and more storage for security videos; (4) A new gate system, ensuring all who enter are approved to be on property, increasing the safety of our members and homeowners; (5) An on-track lighting system installed at Charleston Peak, giving us multiple tiers of flagging options; (6) Track cameras, allowing for faster assessment and reaction times, and instant playback for Race Directors to make calls on the fly; and (7) The addition of multiple mobile high-tech fire suppression systems, allowing us to respond to incidents quickly and extract the driver safely, minimizing damage to the race car and the track.

Spring Mountain Estates06 construction, our luxury residential development at the facility with 80 home and mixed-use lots, has several projects in the planning and construction stages, according to Brent Meads of Double M Construction, and Mike Reed, Director of Special Projects for Spring Mountain. This custom home, ready for stucco next week, built on Lot #32 for member Dan Trunk, boasts over 6,000 square feet of living space and over 17,000 square feet overall, with soaring 38’ high ceilings, a custom glass elevator, and room for over 20 cars. You can expect to see the completion of this home in the first quarter of 2024.

07 newhomeJeffrey Cheng's stunning modern design, built on Lot #2, is growing closer to completion, with the final trim and details expected to be completed within the next few weeks. This beautiful home features a whopping 12-car garage for all those race cars and toys, and includes 6,000 square feet of living space. Amenities include 3 bedrooms, 3 1/2 baths, and an expansive lot with beautiful desert views.

Our Talented Members are Topping Podiums Worldwide This Season

08 winnersLamborghini claimed another landmark victory on American soil as Forte Racing Powered by USRT’s Patrick Liddy, Club Spring Mountain Charter Member, Loris Spinelli and Misha Goikhberg triumphed in the Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta in the IMSA GTD class. It is the sixth major success in the United States for Lamborghini Squadra Corse, following the victories in the Daytona 24 Hours (2018, 2019 and 2020) and the Sebring 12 Hours (2018 and 2019) and the first win for Forte Racing in the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship! The 2023 Petit Le Mans was the 26th running of the Petit Le Mans, and was held on October 14, 2023. Congratulations to Patrick on your hard-earned victory!

09 winnersAfter ten years of racing Radical sportscars, Alan “Indy Al” Miller, Club Spring Mountain Charter member, has reached the top of the podium in Portugal and can now be defined as a World Champion. Indy Al was crowned the Platinum class Radical World Champion, with Club member Gregg Gorski close behind in third position. Taking place at the famous Portimao, Portugal circuit Autodromo Do Algarve this year, the annual Radical World Finals attracts Radical Motorsport drivers from around the world to compete for the lucrative World Championship title. We couldn’t be more proud of our members and the talent they display on track. A huge congratulations to Club members Indy Al and Gregg for their success in the 2023 Radical World Finals! Keep pushing the limits and continue to make us proud!

10 ronCongratulations to Ron Fletcher, Club Spring Mountain Charter Member, who secured the Championship win in the Sports Prototype Cup of North America this November. Ron, in his Revolution RSR, with a phenomenal record of 7 wins and 4 second places, secured the title with one race remaining at COTA. Ron was pushed all the way this season by Judd Miller, who finished in second, but Ron's consistency was ultimately successful in pulling out the win. The thrilling showdown was held at Circuit of the Americas (COTA) a premier destination for world-class motorsports and entertainment in the United States, just outside downtown Austin.


Club Race Weekend – November 30 - December 3

Bring Your Guest Drivers for a 3-Hour Enduro Race on the Charleston Peak Full Course

11 raceweekendThe Spring Mountain 2023-2024 Race Series, presented by Dakine, Vertra, and Safe Life Defense, continues this month on the Charleston Peak Full 3.23-mile Course. Partly cloudy and dry race conditions are expected, with temperatures ranging from the high 50's to the low 30's. Please be advised we are still adhering to our health and safety practices and limiting the number of people in the Clubhouse so pay close attention to the posted schedule while you are on the property as it is subject to change.

12 miataYour weekend begins Thursday at 8:00 am with sign-ins, followed by an open track at 9:00 am, featuring 45-minute sessions for Sports Cars and Formulas/Prototypes. Lunch will be served in the Clubhouse and the track will be closed from 12:00-1:00 pm. From 1:00-4:00 pm, 45-minute sessions will again be held for Sports Cars and Formulas/Prototypes. A Ribbon Cutting Ceremony begins at 4:15 pm at the Charleston Peak Control Tower. The Bar opens at 4:00 pm with a limited menu served from 5:00-7:00 pm in the Clubhouse, and the building closes at 8:00 pm.

13 gatheringFriday begins at 7:00 am with Race Day Registration and Breakfast in the Charleston Peak Members Lounge. A Mandatory Sports Car Drivers meeting begins at 8:00 am in the West Track Classroom, followed by open sessions and qualifying for Members and Enduro Guests, Sports Cars and Radical Racers. The Mandatory Radical Drivers meeting begins at 9:10 am followed by open track for members. Track Maintenance is at 10:25 am, followed by qualifying for Members and Enduro Guests and Radical Cup. Lunch will be served in the Clubhouse from 12:00-1:30 pm. Sports Car Pre-Grid and Sports Car Race #1 will be held at 1:35 pm followed by Podium for Sports Cars, Open sessions for members and enduro guests and track maintenance. Beginning at 2:55 pm, the Radical Cup Pre-Grid and Radical Cup Race #1 will be held, followed by Podium for the Radical Cup race. The track will be closed at 4:00 pm for the evening, and the bar will be open. Be sure to join us for our Friday night banquet, with cocktails and light hors d'oeuvres served from 5:30-6:30; dinner from 6:30-8:00 pm; and the bar will close at 9:00 pm.

14 racingSaturday begins at 7:30 am with Race Day Registration, followed by a Mandatory Race Meeting in the Charleston Peak Member's Lounge. Track maintenance will be held at 9:50 am, followed by a 45-minute qualification session for all Enduro Race cars at 10:15 am. Lunch is served in the Clubhouse from 12:00 - 1:00 pm. at 12:10 pm the Enduro Race Pre-Grid will begin and the 3-hour Enduro Race begins at 12:30 pm. At 3:45 pm the Enduro Race Podium will be presented, and the Bar opens at 4:00 pm.

15 ridealongSunday begins at 8:00 am with sign-ins, followed by an open track at 9:00 am featuring 45-minute sessions for Sports Cars and Formulas/Prototypes. Lunch will be served in the Clubhouse and the track will be closed from 12:00-1:00 pm. At 1:00 pm, 45-minute open sessions will again be held for Sports Cars and Formulas/Prototypes. At 4:00 pm the track will be closed.
