Spring into a New Season

More Sunshine Inspires Outdoor Fun at the Track

It may be cool outside, but Spring is just around the corner, with fresh desert air and longer days for adrenaline-fueled adventures at the Club. Recreational opportunities abound at Club Spring Mountain, and when you're not on the track you can explore off-road trails, relax in the Clubhouse, work out in the fitness center, indulge in a massage with Tina, or just share stories by the fire pit. Stay in one of our conveniently located trackside condominiums, or in your own custom on-site home at Spring Mountain Estates. There’s something for everyone here, and we look forward to seeing you enjoying all the amenities the Club has to offer on your next visit.

Don't miss our next Club Race Weekend March 9-12, where members will drive the Charleston Peak 2.76-mile North Course. Congratulations to Charter Member Alain Derzie, who was not only victorious in last month's race, he also set a new track record in his new Radical SR10.

Please join us in welcoming our latest new member, Chris Hinojosa, from Colfax, CA, who competed for the first time last month in his Revolution Race car. We look forward to seeing Chris on the track and at the Club!

We are grateful for your enthusiasm, friendship and support, and we look forward to seeing you at the Club. As always, our goal is to continue to provide a phenomenal Club experience for you and your guests. See you at the track!

Facility Development Update

Continued Progress on Development Projects

Progress continues with development and changes to the skyline at the facility. Our 4-story control tower features a section for race spotters and soars 55 feet above the track, providing perfect visibility of the entire Charleston Peak race circuit. Construction will begin in April on this much-anticipated project. The newly-updated design, currently in the building department for approval, consists of a lower lounge area on the first floor, with the second and third floors designated for track viewing and the fourth floor utilized for race control. (Click to enlarge the drawing.)

Our state-of-the-art Race America Electronic flagging system has been completed, under the supervision of Zach Dowdell, Director of Special Projects. Currently, all systems are a GO for our next Club Race weekend.

Plans are underway for the Lake Spring Mountain area to undergo a major redevelopment with 37 RV spaces, a large, resort-style pool, a Pavilion with BBQ stations, and an expansion of the existing Aquatic center. Grading for this project will begin in April with a completion date for the RV spaces of Summer 2023. The Pool and Aquatic Center are expected to be completed this fall.

The tortoise permit has been granted for our 30-acre go-kart track, and after biologists walk the property, fencing will begin in late March, coinciding with the end of the Tortoise hibernation period. Final designs and layout are underway, and we expect grading and paving to be completed this summer, with the operation of the 1-mile kart track anticipated for the Fall of 2023.

Other projects at the facility continue their momentum, with all flood prevention work completed with new drainage ditches capable of handling a 1000-year event. The two 5,000-square-foot storage buildings are complete, along with the surrounding paving.

Desert Invitational Postponed

The Next Event Slated for APEX Motor Club in October

The 2023 Desert Invitational, presented by APEX Motor Club and Spring Mountain Motor Resort & Country Club, previously scheduled for this month, has been postponed until October. As two powerhouse racetracks in the desert, this is an Invitational built on the camaraderie seen through the love of motorsports. Last September, this event was hosted here, but this fall drivers will have the opportunity to drive on three different track configurations at APEX!

To give members a chance to experience new race courses, we alternate between our two country clubs. On a date to be determined in October, we will be racing at Apex Motor Club for a three-day event featuring a different configuration each day. After the date is chosen we will announce the event and open sign-ups. For additional questions or more information, contact Elizabeth McGee, Membership Coordinator.
